FUNNY CAR WINNER JOHN FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, PEAK ANTIFREEZE CHEVROLET CAMARO SS:

YOU BEAT ROBERT HIGHT IN THE SECOND ROUND, COURTNEY FORCE IN THE SEMIS AND RON CAPPS IN THE FINAL. THAT’S THREE TOUGH DRIVERS TO BEAT

“You are right, I took on the toughest out there. Taking out Robert … his car just stumbled a bit and I got him. He is a great driver. Then Courtney. Got her last week and she wasn’t going to give it up this week but she dropped a cylinder on the hit. Sometimes luck is a big part of it. But if you work hard and you feed off the energy of the fans like I did every time, you start getting tired and then I get out at that hospitality with PEAK and Monster Energy and that brings me to life. I thought it was going to wear me out, but its bringing me new life. So I am excited about it. Then we get Ron Capps in the final and the rest is history.”

PRO STOCK WINNER GREG ANDERSON, KB RACING, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT CHEVROLET CAMARO SS:

THIS MUST BE A SPECIAL DAY TO TIE BOB GLIDDEN FOR SECOND IN CAREER WINS?

“I looked to him for many years. I never dreamt of this day. Absolutely never even thought I could achieve anything like this. It’s beyond dreaming for me. It will take a while to sink in. KB Racing is just bad to the bone. Everybody absolutely has closed the gap on us; they’re getting tougher every weekend. We’re finding a way to pick it up and be the fastest car on Sunday.”

FUNNY CAR:
COURTNEY FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, TRAXXAS CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 2 qualifier; fell in semifinals to John Force): “I am actually excited about how the weekend went. We have had a great Traxxas Chevy Camaro race car all weekend long and honestly one of the quickest cars out here. We were second for qualifying and picked up a ton of points throughout the qualifying sessions. So I am really excited and I think going rounds today was a huge help for us in points and in trying to catch up to (Ron) Capps. It was a good weekend for our team and I am really thrilled about how this new Camaro body is performing and I think the fans were excited to see another good race.”

ROBERT HIGHT, JOHN FORCE RACING, AUTO CLUB CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 3 qualifier; fell in second round to John Force): “We lost a spark plug. That was a tough loss. We had the quickest run of the first round and I think we were about to run quicker. We were even with him at half-track and I thought we were about to pull away. We are running really quick and qualifying well. This Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro will be ready for Seattle and I am excited about getting the Countdown started.”

PRO STOCK:
BO BUTNER, JIM BUTNER AUTO, BUTNER AUTO SALES CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 1 qualifier; fell in final): “We have good momentum. We feel really good and its coming. It’s coming. I have never had so many runner-up finishes before I got a win before though. It’s a tough sport. We had the fastest car every run. It didn’t show it ET-wise, but it would take a little bump when I hit the tree. None of us had been in that left lane all day race day. So we were just kind of hit and miss. We were just a little hot down low and spun and that is what cost us the race. We actually ran more speed but I think he had me four or five hundredths at 60 feet and we lost by three. But it was a good race, a good day, and we swept all qualifying which was good.”

VINCENT NOBILE, MOUNTAIN VIEW RACING, MOUNTAIN VIEW TIRE CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 7 qualifier; fell in second round): “I would’ve liked to have raced my teammate heads up but we still made a solid, clean pass. I knew Greg (Anderson) was going to be a tough opponent as usual, but unfortunately our car slowed and he got the win. We will go to Seattle and try to end the western swing on a high note.”

MATTHEW HARTFORD, HARTFORD RACING, (No. 5 qualifier; fell in semifinals): “We made a really good run up there for the conditions because it’s certainly a one-lane racetrack. We had some gremlins today that we fought through and we have a lot of work to do between now and Seattle. I almost wish we could go test in Woodburn or something on the way to try and sort some stuff out. But I think the rest of the teams know we are here to play.”

JASON LINE, KB RACING, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 8 qualifier; fell in first round): “I’ve had better weekends, but you’ll have that sometimes. We still managed to put two KB Racing cars in the final round so it was still a great weekend for us.”

SHANE GRAY, GRAY MOTORSPORTS, VALVOLINE/NOVA SERVICES CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 3 qualifier; fell in semifinal round): “Another good weekend for us, for sure. We’ve been knocking on the door a lot lately, but it’s time for us to kick it down. I know that if we keep doing what we’ve been doing, we’ll kick that door down. Maybe we can do that in Seattle. I knew from the beginning of the year that we had plenty of horsepower and that it was just a matter of using it the right way. It took us a while, but (crew chief) Dave Connolly has made all the difference in the world. He came back home with us, and he’s been great. No complaints.”

DREW SKILLMAN, RAY SKILLMAN RACING, RAY SKILLMAN CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 9 qualifier; fell in second round): “I was just a little late on the light and that was the end of it. So it’s just one of those things where Bo (Butner) did a better job than me that time, but we will come back next week. We have been struggling with just stupid, small things. We are kind of getting back on track and we are just going to keep pushing forward and see what happens.”
