Will Power Wins Pole at Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc (June 25, 2016) – Will Power has his mojo back in the Verizon IndyCar Series (VICS). The driver of the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet won his second Verizon P1 award of the 2016 season, and the 44th of his career in the Series’ popular return to Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin).

With a lap of one minute, 42.2105 seconds/141.379 mph, Power, the 2014 VISC champion and winner of race two at the 2016 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, bested the Firestone Fast Six field that contained five drivers of the Chevrolet Aero Kit with fully integrated 2.2 liter twin turbocharged direct injected V6 engine.

Starting alongside Power on the front row will be four-time and defending VISC champion Scott Dixon, in the No. 9 Clorax Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.

Row two for the 50-lap/202.4-mile race around the 4.048-mile/14-turn track will be Tony Kanaan, No. 10 NTT Data Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet and points leader Simon Pagenaud, No. 22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet.

Helio Castroneves will start the No. 3 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet from the fifth position on the grid.
