RealTime Racing Acuras Ready For Home Cooking at Road America

• Wisconsin-based squad looking for third Road America victory
• Team owner Peter Cunningham returns after damage forced him to miss Lime Rock
• Ryan Eversley moved into top-10 in points after strong Lime Rock results

ELKHART LAKE, Wisconsin. (June 23, 2016) – Back at full strength after race damage forced team owner/driver Peter Cunningham to miss a pair of races, the RealTime Racing Acura team returns to Pirelli World Challenge competition at a familiar venue this weekend.

The team from in Saukville, Wisconsin will get a taste of some home cooking as it takes its Acura TLX-GT racers to the 4.048-mile Road America layout in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The weekend features the 12th and 13th rounds of the PWC GT campaign and is always a high point of the team’s season.

“Racing at Road America is always a special occasion,” said Cunningham. “For one thing, it is a world-class facility, certainly one of the top old-school, European-style tracks. But it is also the team’s home track, so all of our friends and family will be there to cheer the RealTime Acuras on!”

The team has a pair of victories on the fabled road course that flows through the Kettle Moraine region, and Cunningham also has two other Touring Car wins to his credit. Last year, the RealTime team performed admirably during what became a three-race weekend caused by a rained-out race in Detroit, scoring top-10 finishes in each of the three events, two of those coming from Ryan Eversley.

“The last time I raced at Road America, I was able to bring home the win for Honda (in 2015 with HART in the Continental Tire Series), so hopefully, we can have a strong result for Acura at RealTime’s home track,” Eversley said. “The venue has apparently sold a massive amount of tickets, so I’m looking forward to racing in front of so many fans”

Eversley took over Cunningham’s car at Lime Rock Park at the end of May after contact on the previous weekend prevented the team from repairing Eversley’s Acura. Eversley repaid Cunningham’s favor in spades, taking the car to sixth- and fourth-place finishes in the weekend’s two races.

“After a good string of results, everyone at Acura Motorsports is looking forward to Road America,” said Senior Program Engineer Lee Niffenegger of Honda Performance Development. “It’s a track that should suit us well and a recent strong test helped us get dialed in prior to the race weekend.”

Pirelli World Challenge qualifying takes place Saturday at 11 a.m. ET, with Round 12 getting underway at 5:30 p.m. Round 13 takes place Sunday morning at 10:55 a.m. ET.
