Timothy Peters Rebounds for 11th-Place Finish at Iowa Speedway.

Timothy Peters rebounded from contact with another truck to earn an 11th-place finish in the Speediatrics 200 at Iowa Speedway. Peters and the No. 17 team unloaded the red and white Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra for two practices on Friday afternoon and recorded the fifth fastest speed in the first and the 21st fastest speed in the second practice. On Saturday, Peters transferred to the second of three rounds of knockout group qualifying and earned the 19th starting spot for the Speediatrics 200. Peters took the green flag and by lap 20, had moved into 15th position. Under the first yellow flag on lap 44, crew chief Shane Huffman called Peters to pit road for four fresh Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel, as well as adjustments. The sun began to set and Peters reported that his Toyota Tundra was free on the exit of the corner. Peters worked his way up to the 14th position, but under the next caution had to pit twice to repair damage to the left front fender. He would restart in the 20th position. Peters quickly moved into the 17th position, but contact with another competitor resulted in damage and a flat left rear tire. He was forced to to pit road to change the flat tire before it was open, so on the restart was put to the tail end of the field. On the restart, Peters muscled his way to 14th, then following another caution and red flag, battled his way into the 12th position. On the final green-white-checkered restart Peters would gain one more spot to finish in the 11th position.

Timothy Peters Quote:
“It was a frustrating night for sure, but I’m glad that we were able to battle back for an 11th-place finish in our Red Horse Racing Tundra, even if it wasn’t the result we wanted. Shane (Huffman) and the guys did a great job making adjustments and repairs on pit road, and we’ll go on to Gateway (Motorsports Park) next week and have a better run there.”

Germán Quiroga Finishes 14th at Iowa Speedway

On Saturday, Germán Quiroga finished 14th in the Speediatrics 200 at Iowa Speedway. The No. 11 team unloaded the black and red Toyota Tundra on Friday for two practice sessions and Quiroga posted the 19th and 25th fastest times. In the first of three rounds of knockout group qualifying, Quiroga secured the 25th starting spot after encountering a loose handling condition during his qualifying run. As the sun began to set, 32 trucks took the green flag for 200 laps and Quiroga quickly moved up to the 20th position by lap 20 and reported that his Tundra was free on entry to the corner and tight in the center. Under the first caution on lap 44, Quiroga visited pit road where the No. 11 team gave him four fresh Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel and several adjustments. Quiroga gained several positions and was soon in the 16th position. When the caution clock expired on lap 103, Quiroga again reported that his Tundra was still tight in the middle of the corner and crew chief Butch Hylton called him to pit road for four more tires and fuel, as well as adjustments. He would restart in the 18th position, but on the restart gained four positions to 14th place. On the next caution flag on lap 148, Quiroga would hit pit road for a final four-tire stop with no adjustments. Following a red flag and another caution period leading to a green-white-checkered finish, Quiroga would cross the line in 14th.
