TEAM SUMMIT RACING GOES FOR WIN NUMBER 11

Mooresville, NC (June 15, 2016) – Team Summit Racing heads to the 2016 NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals looking for an 11th consecutive win.

Greg Anderson and Jason Line have claimed victory at Thunder Valley Dragway in Bristol. Anderson won the Bristol in 2004 and 2001, and Line won in 2006.

Both Anderson and Line know what they need to do to stay ahead of the pack this weekend.

“Put in the work,” said Line. “After every race we go back to the shop and fix what we broke and try to find more power.”

Anderson believes the team will have to improve to stay ahead of the competition.

“Obviously, you have get be better,” Anderson said. “If we don’t get better each week, we will get passed by. The other teams are doing a great job and they are gaining. There is still a lot to be learned about fuel injection, but we are absolutely not going to quit because the other guys want to beat us.”

Summit Racing Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson will drive “Bessie,” his old Shelby Mustang Funny Car borrowed from its new owner Brian Stewart. Wilkerson hopes to have his new car fixed and ready to go for the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk.

Consistency is name of the game for Wilkerson’s team.

“We just need to keep winning rounds. The goal is to be in the top 10 when you get to Indy,” said Wilkerson. “After Bristol we’re going to haul butt home, strip Bessie, put the new car back together and head out to Norwalk.”
