SUMMIT RACING TEAM CONFIDENT OF VICTORY HEADING TO ENGLISHTOWN

Mooresville, NC (June 9, 2016) – Fresh from victory in New Hampshire, the Summit Racing Team heads to Englishtown, NJ for the 47TH annual NHRA Summerationals. This is the second of four back-to-back races this month, and Team Summit Racing is driving towards their 10th consecutive win.

Greg Anderson has been to the winner’s circle at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown six times. He is the defending event champion, beating Allen Johnson in 2015, running 6.504/214.31.

“It’s one of my favorite tracks. It just fits with my driving style and how my car handles,” said Anderson. “My Chevy loves the conditions there. It’s very similar Epping, and we had great success there last weekend. I couldn’t be happier.”

Teammate Jason Line, winner of five races in 2016, agrees with Anderson about the advantages of East Coast Pro Stock racing.

“Englishtown is a good race track. It has a lot of the same conditions as Epping,” said Line. “It’s a fun place, and my family will be with me. I always look forward to going there.”

Nitro Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson has been enjoying a successful season so far with two event wins. He is confident, but realistic, about the competition in his class as the team competes at the 10th race of the year. Wilkerson will be driving loaner car “Bessie”, his old Shelby Mustang, again. He set a track speed record last weekend at Epping in this car.

“We normally run well there. But as good as everyone is running now, it’s getting ugly. This is getting Pro Stock style for us you know—reaction times and E.T.’s are all so close together,” said Wilkerson. “Hopefully we can keep the car rolling down the track in the right direction.”
