PRO STOCK WINNER GREG ANDERSON, KB RACING, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT CHEVROLET CAMARO SS:

YOU KEPT THAT KEN BLACK RACING WIN STREAK ALIVE

“It’s been a great start to the year. My race team is on fire right now and this car is just a dream to drive. It was great today; it was low ET every run. I love racing up here in the Northeast; it reminds me of Minnesota where I grew up and if feels like going back home. I love racing here and I love racing at Englishtown (New Jersey, site of next race). These two weeks are probably my favorite weekends of the year. Feels good to cap it off and get the job done, and not screw up basically. I had the best car on the grounds; all I could do is screw it up and I thank the good Lord I didn’t. Great day. I had a rough day on Friday. We made a couple of mistakes. We were experimenting with a few things. Those didn’t work out, but we recovered and got it right on Saturday and got the job done today. I have a great race team behind me and they keep making us look like heroes.”

WHAT WAS YOUR CONFIDENCE LEVEL THIS MORNING?

“Great. Absolutely fantastic. Friday was rough but (Saturday) was a heck of a rebound and had the best car four runs in a row today. My confidence level is high, and that goes a mile for me. I’m a confidence type of guy, and when I have confidence when you roll up there things just come a lot clearer. I had a good day behind the wheel and I had a great hot rod, and when you do that you’ll look like a hero at the end of the day.”

TOP FUEL:
BRITTANY FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, MONSTER ENERGY/CHEVROLET TOP FUEL DRAGSTER (No. 3 qualifier; fell in Round 1 of eliminations): “It was a tough weekend with all the different weather conditions. We had a lot of rain yesterday and now we are racing on Monday with more heat on the track. It was just tough for everyone to have to come out on Monday and get a read on the track. We went down about 500 feet and went up in smoke. I had to pedal it and it hooked back up but I couldn’t catch up to the dragster in the other lane. We’ll go right into Englishtown and we are still in a strong position in the points. That is a good place to be.”

FUNNY CAR:
JOHN FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, PEAK CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 4 qualifier; fell in semifinals): “I am excited for all my Chevrolets that they are performing. We still have work to do but we have room to run. I had a good day but I am still not in that Traxxas Shootout. Jon Schaffer and this team worked really hard for a number of weeks to just get it back together after I crashed it in Topeka. I want to keep reminding myself of that so I don’t do it again. It is a long way to the championship but I feel good.”

COURTNEY FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, TRAXXAS CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 8 qualifier; fell in Round 2): “After talking with my crew chiefs, we were all a little bummed. We obviously wish we could have pushed the car a little bit more and made some different adjustments, but being unsure of the hot track we didn’t want to push it too hard and throw a race away. It’s one of those things where you learn from it and we’re just going to go into the next race like business as usual. We are still hanging on to the points lead even after going out in the second round so it wasn’t a bad weekend for our Traxxas Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car team and especially not for John Force Racing. We got to cheer on my dad in his new 2016 Chevy Camaro SS body all the way to the semifinals for PEAK Antifreeze. I’m really proud of our teams out here.”

ROBERT HIGHT, JOHN FORCE RACING, AUTO CLUB CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 9 qualifier; fell to Courtney Force in Round 1): “It was definitely a tough first-round loss. We got the brand new Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car this weekend and on Saturday we made some good runs. We are still figuring some things out. You never want to race your teammates early and our Camaros were evenly matched in qualifying. I was doing my usual routine and it didn’t work out for us today. The good news is we will be back on track in a couple days for the Summernationals.”

PRO STOCK:
SHANE GRAY, GRAY MOTORSPORTS, VALVOLINE/NOVA SERVICES CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 8 qualifier; fell in semifinals): “That’s pretty cool to go to semis two times in a row. I would’ve loved to have taken that next step and get to the final round today but we missed it a little bit. But we’re close. They know we’re here, for sure. Pro Stock is so tough that anytime you can get a win against any opponent you take it.”
VINCENT NOBILE, MOUNTAIN VIEW RACING, MOUNTAIN VIEW TIRE CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 3 qualifier; fell in Round 2): “I would have loved to have won here, my dad won his first ever Pro Stock race here 12 years ago and to win on a track he has won at would’ve been very special to me. I am excited to get back to Englishtown, it would be a dream come true to win at a track that I grew up at. Although we spun in E2, ultimately we took a huge step in the right direction this weekend and it has me pumped going to the next race.”

CHRIS MCGAHA, HARLOW SAMMONS RACING, HARLOW SAMMONS OF ODESSA CHEVROLET CAMARO SS (No. 9 qualifier; fell in Round 1): “Considering all the obstacles we faced this weekend, from breaking a motor on the first run and finding some other issues, we did OK. We’ll try to rebound and go back up the ladder again.”
