Solid Day for Chevrolet Drivers in NHRA Southern Nationals
Greg Anderson leads Chevy top-five sweep of Pro Stock qualifications at Atlanta Dragway

COMMERCE, Ga. (May 14, 2016) – Greg Anderson led a top-five Chevrolet sweep of Pro Stock qualifications for the 36th Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals with his fourth No. 1 qualifier honor of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Anderson, driving the Summit Racing Equipment Chevrolet Camaro SS, registered a run of 6.610 seconds at 210.24 mph to pace the field at Atlanta Dragway. It was his 84h No. 1 qualifier of his career, including seven at the NHRA Southern Nationals.

“We’ve had a lot of magic at this racetrack, and it makes it even more special when you have Summit Racing on the billboard here,” said Anderson, who has won four times at Atlanta Dragway. “We’ve had a great year and we’re looking to keep it going. We know the competition is going to close the gap on us, but we’re just trying to keep this string going as long as we can. We’ll have a great chance tomorrow.”

Anderson enters eliminations Sunday with three victories in the six races, including two weeks ago at Houston.

KB Racing teammate Jason Line, who has won the other three races and is the Pro Stock points leader, was the No. 2 qualifier with a best run of 6.615. Bo Butner (Butner Auto Sales Chevrolet Camaro SS) had the best run of the day at 6.618 to grab the No. 3 qualifier spot.

Shane Gray (Valvoline/Nova Services Chevrolet Camaro SS) qualifier a season-high fourth at 6.620 seconds, and Chris McGaha (Harlow Sammons of Odessa Chevrolet Camaro SS) rounded out the top five at 6.648.

Courtney Force led the John Force Racing Funny Car contingent as the No. 3 qualifier with a best run of 3.946 seconds in the Traxxas Chevrolet Camaro SS. Force entered the race weekend tied for the Funny Car points lead after posting her eighth career victory at Houston.

Teammate Robert Hight (Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro SS) was the No. 6 qualifier at 3.980 and John Force checked in as the No. 9 qualifier at 4.010 in the Advance Auto Part/PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS.

Brittany Force, who has two Top Fuel victories this season, was the No. 6 qualifier with a best run of 3.777 seconds in the Monster Energy Chevrolet Dragster.
