TEAM CHEVY DRIVER QUOTES:

An interview with Pro Stock winner JASON LINE, KB RACING, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT CHEVROLET CAMARO SS:

Q: Superman has his kryptonite and this season you’ve had Greg Anderson, but you had none of that in the final. You beat him on a holeshot.

JASON LINE: Finally. He’s gotten the best of me (3 wins to 1 in head-to-head this season) and he’s tough. If there’s somebody I don’t want to race in the final, it’s him. I want to race him because he’s my teammate, but he is tough to beat. We got it done at the Summit race.”

Q: The dream season continues.

JASON LINE: Yes, it does. If you would have asked me at the start of the year, especially (after) we whined and complained a little bit about the rules change, but I never would have thought that this would be the result of that.

Q: The other Pro Stock competitors want to know what is the Achilles’ heel with KB Racing this season.

JASON LINE: “Well, I don’t know the answer to that. We’ve been very fortunate, worked hard and have had a lot of help.”

TOP FUEL:
BRITTANY FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, MONSTER ENERGY CHEVROLET DRAGSTER: “This track has a special place in my heart. We announced our sponsorship with Monster Energy here last year so we would love to be in the winner’s circle here.”

FUNNY CAR:
COURTNEY FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, TRAXXAS CHEVROLET CAMARO SS: “It was a great race day for our team. We didn’t go home with the win here in Atlanta but definitely made some really strong passes out here this weekend in the heat and in cooler conditions. Those kind of runs really excite this Traxxas team. We have a good car and we had some tough competitors today. We laid down some pretty solid numbers but then lost lane choice going into the semifinals. We hit a bump in the left lane and spun the tires against (Matt) Hagan. We were a little worried about it but we tried to put the same set-up we had for qualifying. We are going to just have to try and figure that lane out next year. We are going to move on to the next race in Topeka. We are just excited we are going home with the points lead and we learned a lot this weekend. I am really proud of how this Traxxas Chevy went down the track every run except for one this weekend.”

ROBERT HIGHT, JOHN FORCE RACING, AUTO CLUB CHEVROLET CAMARO SS: “The first round win showed what this Auto Club Chevrolet is capable of under really good conditions. We stepped up from our qualifying time and the racecar really felt good going down track. It is always tough to race your teammate (Courtney Force) and we just had to be aggressive in the left lane. The good news it we made more quality runs this weekend and we will be ready in Topeka.”

JOHN FORCE, JOHN FORCE RACING, ADVANCE AUTO PEAK CHEVROLET CAMARO SS: “We are leaving here with the points lead in Funny Car (Courtney Force). We didn’t get a win today but the last couple of races have been really good. We have a big announcement on Tuesday and we’ll be back at it in Topeka. We are looking into testing after Topeka and get a better handle on this PEAK Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car. We are going to keep fighting the fight.”

PRO STOCK:
SHANE GRAY, GRAY MOTORSPORTS, VALVOLINE/NOVA SERVICES CHEVROLET CAMARO SS: “We’re upset that we overestimated the track conditions. It was nice and cool this morning and the heat started kicking in right as Pro Stock got ready to run. The guys saw what the fuel cars were running and tuned to what they thought the track could hold. We just missed it by a touch. It’s hard to be too upset about this weekend as a whole. Adding Dave Connolly as crew chief alongside Jim Yates and Craig Hankinson made a world of difference. We have a good race car now and we are working hard to make it a great race car. I’m actually really excited we have a race next weekend so we can get back out there and show everyone what we can do. Our spirits are high.”

CHRIS MCGAHA, HARLOW SAMMONS RACING, HARLOW SAMMONS OF ODESSA CHEVROLET CAMARO SS: “We screwed up pretty bad on the lane choice call in the second round and that’s why we lost. But, other than that, the car ran pretty good. We made some gains this weekend and we’ll try again in a few days in Topeka. We still got work to do but we’ll bring something for them next weekend.”
