SUMMIT RACING TEAM LOOKS FOR WIN FIVE AT
THE FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS
NHRA Race at zMAX Dragway Home Event for KB Racing

Mooresville, NC (April 20, 2016) With two wins apiece for Pro Stock drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line, Team Summit Racing looks to clinch win five this weekend at their home track zMax Dragway.

Anderson and Line won’t just be racing for thousands of NHRA fans; plenty of their family and friends will be sitting in the front row for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals presented by Lowes Foods.

Some drivers might feel extra pressure racing in front of their hometown crowd, but not Anderson. “We love racing in front of our family and friends,” Anderson said. “Most of them don’t go on the road and watch us, so this is their chance to cheer for us and even get their hands a little dirty in the pits.”

With double the competition, many drivers consider the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals to be the trickiest race in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Race Series. Racers can fall victim to looking at the wrong staging light, or find the multiple Christmas Trees confusing.

Points leader Jason Line is a fan of the four-wide competition, even if he has yet to make it to the winner’s circle. “This race win has eluded me for some reason. But we have a great car and a really good chance of bringing home the Wally,” said Line. He adds, “We’ve been trained for years to do something a certain way and for one weekend we have to do something different. It takes a little practice and a little luck because there is a lot of stuff going on.”

Anderson has won this event twice, although he admits there is an element of luck involved.

Anderson explains, “Four-wide racing throws drivers for a loop. You’re used to two sets of lights. Now you have two Christmas Trees with four sets of blinking lights. Staging and leaving the starting line on time are the hardest parts.” You just never know what can happen in this event.”

Both Line and Anderson also hold track records at zMAX Dragway: 6.455 E.T. by Line and 215.48 mph for Anderson, set in March of 2015. Anderson is confident both of those records will stand come Monday morning.

“With rule changes to Pro Stock, our track records are safe,” said Anderson. “I’m sure none of the Pro Stock records will fall this weekend.”
