Line Planning Raceday Turnaround at Summit Racing Nationals in Norwalk

NORWALK, Ohio, July 4, 2015 – Jason Line is very much looking forward to Sunday at the 9th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Norwalk’s Summit Motorsports Park. The driver of the blue Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro will have his work come out for him on raceday, but he knows he has a capable team and a racecar that is more than able to get the job done. Line, starting from the No. 12 spot, will race Vincent Nobile in round one.

From the start, Line couldn’t quite get to where he meant to be during Norwalk qualifying. He defiantly came back to the track for each qualifying round intent on showing a package that proved the hard work that was going on behind the scenes in the KB Racing camp, but each time the results were not what they where striving for.

For the first qualifying round, Line brought a 6.612-second pass at 209.79 to the table and had a spot in the top half, and the second session on Friday under the lights at Summit Motorsports Park saw a better number but a lower position. His 6.579, 210.31 left him in the No. 11 spot, where he would stay following a 6.581, 211.03 on Saturday. In the final qualifying session, Line clocked out with his best pass of the weekend so far, a 6.575 at 211.46.

“Qualifying was frustrating for us, because we know what’s in there,” said Line, who won the Summit Racing NHRA Nationals in Norwalk in 2009 and was the low qualifier there in 2008. “It seems that we didn’t make good decisions, and we got a little off-base. We know it’s in there, we just have to coax it out. But you know what? It’s not supposed to be easy. It’s worth a lot more when you have to work hard for it, and that’s what we’ll be doing tomorrow.

“I’m looking forward to starting the day off with a track walk with my family, the folks from Summit Racing, and all the fans. This is a great facility, and this is a really neat race. Hopefully, we’ll start the day off strong and then end on an even better note.”
