Line’s Summit Racing Camaro picking up the pace in Epping qualifying

EPPING, N.H., June 12, 2015 – The Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro driven by Jason Line is already showing promise and potential this weekend at the 3rd annual NHRA New England Nationals. Line, of Mooresville, N.C., made two pleasing runs on the first day of qualifying in Epping and saw each of the KB Racing-powered Camaros make smooth and productive passes down the quarter-mile dragstrip. Heading into the second day of the event, Line is No. 3.

“We came into this race knowing we had room for improvement with my car, and this is a tricky track, but we went the right way with all three of the KB Racing Camaros,” said Line. “There is definitely more left, so we’re really looking forward to tomorrow and two more runs.”

Line was out of the box with a 6.585-second pass at 212.16 mph in his blue Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro that sent him initially to the No. 4 position. Team Summit came back with an even more powerful punch in the later session, and Line clocked out for the day with a strong 6.530 at 212.69 that brought in a bonus qualifying point and settled him into the No. 3 spot for the night.

“I think everyone was a little challenged today, but we came out okay, and we’re certainly looking forward to tomorrow,” said Line. “New England Dragway is a fun place to race, and like everywhere else we run, the racing surface has its own unique characteristics. We just have to figure it out.

“We will make a few changes tonight, but I don’t know how big they’ll be. There is a chance we could move up tomorrow, and we would really like for that to happen.”
