Points leader Anderson riding wave of momentum into New England Nationals

MOORESVILLE, N.C., June 10, 2015 – Just a few days ago, Summit Racing Pro Stock driver Greg Anderson was the guy holding all the marbles at the conclusion of the Summernationals, and this weekend he will be playing for keeps once again at the 3rd annual NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway in scenic Epping, N.H. Anderson, the incoming points leader, will pilot the red Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro at the 10th event of 24 in the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. He will be seeking his first New England Dragway win.

Last weekend’s Englishtown performance was impeccable, with the Mooresville, N.C.-based driver capitalizing on great sea-level conditions to fly to the top of the qualifying sheets and earn his first No. 1 in four years. With a semifinals victory on Sunday, he took over the points lead for the first time since 2012. As the credits rolled at the end of the weekend, Anderson had his 76th national event trophy in hand and was eager to keep the freight train rolling.

“Just like Englishtown, New England Dragway is a great Pro Stock racetrack. The whole Northeast supports this class like you wouldn’t believe, and we love it,” said Anderson. “Epping is another fast racetrack that’s close to sea level, and our cars can be very fast there. Especially now, with the Summit Racing Camaro I have under me. It’s just a great time of year for us, and I can’t wait to get to Epping.

“It’s on my bucket list to win that race up there. I’ve won at every other racetrack on the circuit right now, and when they added Epping to our tour, I just knew it was one trophy I had to get. I haven’t been able to conquer it yet, but it would sure be a wonderful thing if I could get to win there this weekend and have a trophy from every racetrack.”

Odds are certainly in his favor. Anderson’s Summit Racing Camaro has consistently been a threat this year, with two wins in five final rounds on his scorecard and a top-half start in all but one of the nine events leading up to this weekend. The Englishtown win just last weekend happened in his third consecutive final, and expectations for the KB Racing team are high for another strong performance.

“We’re racing better than ever right now,” said Anderson. “We are, without a doubt, a threat to win at every track we pull into. I can’t wait to race this weekend because right now, it sure is a lot of fun to drive this Summit Racing Camaro. I’ve got a big smile on my face every time I get to go down a dragstrip. Our team is trying to get as many trophies as we possibly can to hand over to the folks at Summit Racing when we roll into their home track in Norwalk in a few weeks. We hope to have something to brag about at the end of this weekend.”
