Follow A Dream Opens Season

Marstons Mills, MA-February 19, 2015-After a long winter of work in snowy Massachusetts, Jay Blake’s Permatex/Follow A Dream Top Alcohol Funny Car team opens the 2015 season this week in Gainesville, Fla., site of some of the team’s greatest days. The entire 2014 team is back for another season and has the car prepared for battle, tuner Tommy Howell has refined the tuneup, and the team is coming off an extensive test session three weeks ago not far from Gainesville at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

“It’s a new year, the season’s almost here, and everybody’s raring to go,” said Blake. “Gainesville is truly one of the supertracks on the NHRA tour, and it’ll be great to get out of the cold and get back at it.”

“Gainesville has always been one of my favorite tracks,” said driver Todd Veney, who returns for a sixth season behind the wheel of Blake’s 3,000-horsepower Permatex/Follow A Dream Chevy Camaro. “It’s long, it’s fast, the weather’s usually great, and I can’t wait to get back there.”

Unlike Division 1, where the team runs the majority of its regional events, qualifying sessions in Division 2, where Gainesville is located, consists of three attempts – not just two. Qualifying opens with a session on Friday and concludes with two more on Saturday, and the first round of eliminations is set for Sunday afternoon.
