DETROIT (Jan. 20, 2014) – No racecar won more races in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge during the 2014 season than the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R. After a runner-up finish in the series’ Grand Sport (GS) Manufacturer Championship, Chevrolet will be well-represented in the 2015.

Four Camaro Z/28.Rs are set to contest the full 10-round season as the Bowtie Brand looks to add to its success in the Continental Tire series. The 2015 season starts Friday at Daytona International Speedway as part of the Rolex 24 At Daytona weekend.

Stevenson Motorsports returns to lead Chevrolet’s efforts in the championship with the No. 6 and No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R entries. A long-time partner with Chevrolet, Stevenson Motorsports won four times in 2014 with the Camaro Z/28.R.

Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell – who finished third last year in GS Driver points – are teaming again in 2015 in the No. 6 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z/28.R. The pairing claimed three victories including the first win for the Camaro Z/28.R at Sebring in the series’ second round. Davis claimed two pole positions, and each driver posted the GS class’s fastest lap at one race.

Matt Bell, a winner at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in the No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R, also returns to Stevenson Motorsports and will team with Lawson Aschenbach. The newcomer to Stevenson Motorsports won in a Camaro Z/28.R with Eric Curran at Road America. He is a past champion in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge’s ST class and is a three-time champion in the SCCA’s World Challenge GTS class.

Also in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge’s GS class, Mantella Autosport will field two Camaro Z/28.Rs that previously ran under the CKS Autosport banner in 2014. Team owner Anthony Mantella will drive with Mark Wilkins in the No. 8 Camaro Z/28.R, while Kyle Marcelli and Martin Barkey are set to team in the No. 80 Camaro Z/28.R.

“The first season for the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R was a successful one,” said Lisa Talarico, Chevrolet’s Program Manager for the Continental SportsCar Challenge. “As always there is room for improvement, and work has been ongoing to further develop and engineer the Z/28.R for the 2015 Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. We are excited to continue our partnership with Stevenson Motorsports for 2015 with two cars and an outstanding driver lineup. We also are happy to have Mantella Autosport fielding two Camaro Z/28.Rs for the full season. These two teams will help us in the chase for the GS Manufacturer Championship.”
