Franchitti, Dixon Pace Indy “Carb Day” Final Practice
The Honda-powered Target Chip Ganassi Racing team of Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon led the 33-car starting field Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the traditional “Carb Day” practice session leading up to Sunday’s 96th running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

Takuma Sato posted the fourth-fastest speed in practice today for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, while Justin Wilson completed the top six in his Dale Coyne Racing Honda.  The hour-long session, the last chance for drivers and teams to prepare for Sunday’s race, ran without incident. The Indianapolis 500 starts at 11 a.m. EDT Sunday, May 27, with live television coverage on ABC.

Dario Franchitti (#50 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Honda) fastest in the final practice for the Indianapolis 500: “The car was good, as good as it has been all month, really. It had good power, good balance and good grip. The track is getting more slippery the more the air temperature goes up, and the more the car moves around, the harder it is behind the wheel. But it’s the same for everybody, and I think we’ve got a good setup for race day.
