“Overall, we had a good day and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead in 2017. I’m just bummed that we ran out of fuel at the end. We put ourselves in good positions all day. We have to get better and we’re working hard as an organization to make that happen. I’m proud of the Dow Chevrolet team for working hard together. We put ourselves in great position all day and were able to lead some laps. It just didn’t work out for us at the end. We’re really looking forward to Atlanta Motor Speedway next weekend.”

Blaney’s Runner-Up Run Secures 1-2 Finish For Ford In Daytona 500

Thanks to some quick work by the Wood Brothers crew and some heads-up driving by Ryan Blaney, the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team was able to do its part to deliver Ford Motor Company a 1-2 finish in NASCAR’s biggest race.

DAYTONA, Fla., Feb 26, 2017 – AJ Allmendinger finished in third place to lead Team Chevy in the 59th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday. Allmendinger started in row 19 and overcame an early issue with the left front of his No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevrolet SS en route to equaling his best-ever finish The Great American Race.

Auto Club Chevrolet driver Robert Hight has a plan to bounce back from defeat in Phoenix
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Feb. 26) – Robert Hight said his Auto Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS team has a game plan to combat a rough start to the two-race-old Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season, which included Sunday’s NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
Scoring John Force Racing’s lone Funny Car victory of the weekend, Hight advanced to the quarterfinals despite peddling the car both rounds. He bested Del Worsham in the opening-round of eliminations, smoking the tires. But Worsham also lit up his tires, and Hight crossed the line first, timing in at 4.699 seconds. Hight’s car shook in the second round, while a solid run by No. 1 qualifier Tommy Johnson Jr., ended Hight’s day. Advance Auto Parts driver Courtney Force ready to put Phoenix race weekend in rear-view mirror
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Feb. 25) – Courtney Force is ready to put Sunday’s NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park behind her and focus on an upcoming test and then the Gatornationals.
Force, the No. 2 qualifier for Sunday’s race, suffered a disappointing first-round exit against No. 15 qualifier Jim Campbell. Force said her Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS shook at the start, and while she tried to pedal the car, Campbell had already gotten through the lights. It marked Force’s first opening-round loss in five races, and the first loss against Campbell, who eventually made it to the semifinals. “I was kind of looking at the fuel pressure gauge, the window, the mirror; and the last 10 laps, knowing that we were pretty close, I was just trying to run in that pack and run quarter throttle and trying to hold my spot the best I could. I knew everybody was close and it might come down to who did run out of fuel. But, I can’t thank everybody enough on this No. 47 team and Kroger and all of our associates that are a partner of this and all the guys back at the shop, thank you very much. We had something go wrong in the left front in the middle of the race. We had to pit like nine times to figure out what it was. My crew did a great job to figure it out and diagnose the problem and fix it. All in all, I’m just proud of the effort and proud of Kroger sponsoring the Daytona event for 10 years and be a part of it more than anything else just to have a good start to this 2017 season. Mechanical woes end Todd’s Phoenix run
Race Recap: With his Funny Car debut in the rearview mirror, Todd was looking for more round wins in Phoenix.
The DHL Toyota team started strong with three solid passes; their best was Todd’s first career Funny Car pass in the 3.8 second range. The 3.889 second pass in the third qualifying session bumped Todd into the top half of the field. However, it would prove to be a intramural battle with Todd facing his Funny Car teammate, Alexis DeJoria for the first time.

Austin Dillon Drives “Evil Fast” Rheem Chevrolet to Third-Place Finish in Season-Opener at Daytona International Speedway
“It was wild for sure. I got into that first little scuffle. I saved it, but the right-rear quarter panel of the Rheem Chevrolet incurred damage. The team did a great job fixing it in under five minutes. After that the Rheem Chevrolet was pretty fast, but evil to drive. We had to get four tires at the end, which turned out to be a good thing because the right rear tire had started to separate. All-in-all it was a good run. I wanted to get a Chevy in Victory Lane but it didn’t happen. When the No. 3 car ran out of gas, I thought my only option was to push the No. 16 car out front. We had a big lead going and then Kasey Kahne came with a big run. It just didn’t work out. We’ll take a third-place finish. Everyone is safe and that’s all we could ask for.”
