BUBBA WALLACE, NO. 43 VICTORY JUNCTION CAMARO ZL1, met with media to discuss his confidence from Indianapolis carrying over to the rest of the season, how expectations will change from building off their recent success, what it’s going to take to get his first win, and more. Full Transcript:

WHAT’S THE LAST WEEK BEEN LIKE FOR YOU WITH MANY CONGRATULATORY CALLS AND TWEETS? WHAT DOES HAVING A RUN LIKE THAT MEAN FOR YOUR TEAM GOING FORWARD?
“Yeah, it’s actually been a pretty smooth week, surprisingly. Thank you, Courtney (Weber). I’m sure that will all change here soon. It was a solid week, solid Sunday for us. Just being able to build off of that. I think that biggest thing is I keep saying, we are such a small team and that was a brand-new car we ran at Michigan 2. So, that car won’t be in rotation again until Kansas I believe. For us, the car this weekend was the one we ran the last time here. Obviously since then, we’ve made a lot of improvements to our cars and our team to better our programs. I’d like to say we will go out and run top-five again, but I’m not really sure until we hit the first couple of laps on track and get to see where our speed is. I think for our team, it’s a spotlight or a highlight of what our team can do. The funding is in place, but start getting resources out of that, start getting more cars, more people and just man hours on the car. We can do those types of things. It’s awesome to see. Despite our weekend last weekend, we were an 11th to 12th place car, and I said that even after practice. That’s double the spots we usually have been in. To come home third, yeah, a lot of people crashed out, but the ones that didn’t crash out we still beat them. We just have to keep pushing the envelope, keep doing what we can do in our control, and get as much speed out of our cars that we can.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Bubba Wallace

HOW IS YOUR CONTACT STATUS LOOKING FOR 2020?
“Yeah, we’re getting there. Working through everything. It’s a heck of a question to start off (laughs), but we’re in progress. I hope everything stays on track and we can get to the point where we are good to go. But it’s just that time of year again. It seems like more and more, it’s just a year-by-year thing for a lot of people. So, it’s just where we are at right now.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Chris Buescher

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 88 NATIONWIDE CAMARO ZL1 ROTATION HIGHLIGHTS:

HOW DO YOU FEEL GOING INTO THE PLAYOFFS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR? “I definitely feel more confident, and that comes from the speed that we’ve shown during the year. Even lately we’ve had great speed, we just haven’t really got anything to show for it. I think we have as good of a shot as anybody going in, and win a couple of races here and make a big statement here in the playoffs.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Alex Bowman

World of Outlaws Update

We’re California dreamin’ for three more races!

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series has three more races during its summer West Coast swing – Placerville Speedway on Sept. 11, Stockton Dirt Track on Sept. 13 and Calistoga Speedway on Sept. 14.

There’s many big stories lines heading into this week’s three days of racing. In one week – three races – Brad Sweet has cut Donny Schatz’s points lead over him down from 36 points to six. Sweet has recently found momentum with two wins in the last three races, while Schatz is currently on an eight-race winless streak.

Daryn Pittman has also found momentum with two wins in the last four races. He hadn’t won since Volusia Raceway Park in February, but since his win at Grays Harbor Raceway, Pittman has been able to put together strong runs with his Roth Motorsports team.

Brent Marks had a strong run at Silver Dollar Speedway, with his eye on his first win of the season. He’ll be looking to continue his strong run into the final three California races.

They’re sure to be three exciting nights of racing, especially during the NOS Energy Drink Showdown at Stockton where drivers will be racing for $20,000.

If you can’t be there in person, make sure to watch all four nights of the action LIVE on

DI DRIVER BLOG PRESENTED BY WELD RACING: Megan Meyer
By Drag Illustrated | September 11, 2019

“If failure is not an option, then most of the time, neither is success” – Seth Goddin

In my Indy recap blog from last year, we left the race feeling defeated after losing first round with both cars. This year, we left Lucas Oil Raceway feeling on cloud 9 because we won Indy!!

My dad has been racing at the U.S. Nationals for years, decades even, and has never won the biggest NHRA drag race of the year, until now. I came close before, but finally sealed the deal in my fourth year of racing in the Top Alcohol Dragster ranks.

It almost seemed like fate that Shawn Cowie, who I’m now only 10 points behind in the national standings, lost first round and we made our way to the end to take down Troy Coughlin Jr. in the McPhillips dragster. We had a solid race car all weekend, despite the heavy amounts of rain we had, and ran consistently in the 5.2-second range almost every pass for the win.

Some of our friends and family weren’t able to stay for the finals at 9 p.m. on Monday, which we didn’t even have great lighting in the dark or a stand to hold up the winner’s circle banner for pictures. But they toughed it out and stayed with us even when our runs got rained out on Sunday and had all four rounds of eliminations on Monday. Unfortunately, my fiancé, Adam, couldn’t stay to the end either, which I really wanted him to since it was his first Indy race, but he couldn’t miss his flight home on Monday to return to work on Tuesday. He was able to watch us win first round, but since the pros had to get their runs in on time, we couldn’t race again until they were finished.

My crew guys pulled through and didn’t hesitate when it was go-time between eliminations. We were very short on time to get ready for the final round after we had just beaten my sister, Rachel Meyer, in the semis, and fortunately for us, her team came over to help replace a head on the motor to keep it cool and fresh to run against TJ. I love racing against Rachel because we have so much history of racing together, and I know that she is one of the best drivers out here especially since she is an engineer and mechanic, but it’s hard at the same time to have to take her out in eliminations and ruin her chances of winning. Yet, that’s racing, and we had the faster car that time to get the win.

Our partners for the U.S. Nationals were Technician.Academy and MotoRad, who renewed with us last year after we had our second annual internship program. This year, we took two contestants who are college students studying an automotive field to be a crew member on our team for the U.S. Nationals. We had John and Beau, who happen to be from the same school but are not in the same class, to be our crew assistants and they both did an excellent job! The boys had a quiet demeanor but asked a lot of questions and quickly learned our routine and where tools are placed in the trailer to stay efficient. We highly recommend both John and Beau if they would like to work on another racing team.

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 CLOVER CAMARO ZL1 ROTATION HIGHLIGHTS:

REGARDING THE RACE THIS WEEKEND IN LAS VEGAS
“Yeah, just to go there and have a good race and get some Stage points. We are typically good at Vegas, so I like it being the first race of the Playoffs because you will get set with the rhythm and momentum that you need to have the confidence to go on to the next two races.”

REGARDING HAVING KURT BUSCH AS TEAMMATE THIS YEAR
“Yeah, its been good. I like having Kurt around because he is a past champion, and I can learn a lot off of him. I also feel like he is so competitive that he makes everyone step their game up from myself, to the mechanics to everybody in the organization. So, its good to have somebody like that.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Kyle Larson

KURT BUSCH, NO. 1 GEARWRENCH CAMARO ZL1 – ROTATION HIGHLIGHTS:

DID YOU THINK YOU WOULD HAVE A SECOND CHAMPIONSHIP BY NOW?
“I would have thought. But again, it’s a matter of piecing it all together and putting yourself in position to have a shot at the championship. And it’s not a given. It’s not a guarantee. There are those good years, where you have plenty of speed in the car, but it might be this other weakness; maybe pit road or not quite having the horsepower you need. It’s an amazing balance of chemistry to piece it all together and have those shots at championships. And, man, you can say that it comes once every five years or once every four years, but it’s a matter of just piecing it all together. And I think this year, with the clarity and the heart and the drive of this No. 1 Monster Energy Chevy team, this is one of the strongest years, I feel, going into the Playoffs. It’s been a long time, but you’ve got to piece it all together and put yourself in position.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Kurt Busch

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 NAPA FILTERS CAMARO ZL1 – ROTATION HIGHLIGHTS:

DO YOU FEEL THAT HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS, AS A GROUP, ARE TITLE-READY FOR ONE OF YOU GUYS TO WIN?
“I think so. I mean, why be here if you don’t think that? I mean, there’s no point in even coming to this Playoff Media Day if we don’t feel like we have a shot; or, even being in Vegas in general. So, yes, I do think we can do it. I think our group has worked really hard throughout the year. I feel like we’ve had speed at different points throughout the year. Certainly there have been times where I feel like we’ve been much better than other times. Some of that, I feel like, has been our own doing. Some has been misfortune. I think just cleaning-up some of the days that we can control it, I think would be a great thing for us. And trying to be a little steadier. I feel like we’ve been steadier in years past than what we’ve been this year. I know it’s in us and we’ve just got to execute these last 10 weeks. Like I’ve said before, I really feel like when we’re at our best, we can run with those guys that you have to beat and I don’t feel any different right now.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Las Vegas–Chase Elliott

Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Sept. 11, 2019) – Giovanni Scelzi earned impressive results during a pair of marquee racing events last week.

Scelzi won both a heat race and a qualifier before recording a 14 th-place result out of more than 80 drivers during the Driven2SaveLives BC39, which was only his sixth career start in a midget and first in a year. He then picked up a top five out of more than 50 sprint car drivers during the famed Tuscarora 50 weekend.

“It was a great week overall,” he said. “We did well in both cars. A big thanks to Toyota Racing Development and Jack Irving as well as Tucker-Boat Motorsports for the opportunity to race the BC39. I thought it went really well. Not running a midget for a year and then to win a heat and a qualifier and make the A Main was pretty good given how many great drivers were there.” Continue reading Giovanni Scelzi Impresses at Driven2SaveLives BC39 and Tuscarora 50 Events
