Handling Issues Hamper Matt Tifft and the Nexteer Team’s Run at Michigan International Speedway

“This race didn’t play out quite like we thought it was going to based on how practice went. Our No. 2 Nexteer Chevrolet Camaro was great during practice Friday, and I felt comfortable both in and out of the draft. Unfortunately on Saturday, much of the race was a single line and our race car was way too loose when someone came up behind me. That handling issue made us pit early off-sequence and lose some of the track position we had gained. Track position ended up being everything, and with the rain coming strategies varied. We had a shot at it when we stayed out for stage points and finished Stage 2 in the fourth position. If the rain had come then we would have been in good shape, but it didn’t and we didn’t have enough fuel to stay out. That put us farther back than we wanted, and we just had to gain as many positions as we could until the rain came. Congrats to everyone at RCR for getting back into Victory Lane this weekend. Hopefully, we’ll be in there ourselves soon.”

DINWIDDIE, Va. (June 09, 2018) — Courtney Force powered her Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car to her sixth No. 1 qualifying position of the season at a sold-out Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond, Va. Robert Hight maintained his No. 2 position and John Force is No. 7. In Top Fuel, Brittany Force held onto her No. 2 spot.

Off the efforts of her 3.983-second pass at 323.35 mph, which is still the only three-second pass ever made in the Funny Car category at Virginia Motorsports Park, Courtney Force tallies her 23rd career No. 1 and continues her season long streak of qualifying inside of the top four. Menard Qualifies 15th At Michigan

June 8, 2018

Paul Menard and the No. 21 Menards/Jack Links Ford Fusion are set to start Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway from the 15th position.

Menard and the No. 21 Fusion had good speed in Friday’s opening practice and in the first of three rounds of knock-out qualifying. But the second round, which has been a challenge for the team on several occasions this season, once again saw the team come up a bit short, missing the final transfer spot by three positions and just a few ticks of the stopwatch.

Eddie Wood said Menard came close to advancing. Continue reading Menard Qualifies 15th At Michigan

COURTNEY FORCE LEADS FUNNY CAR FIELD FRIDAY AT THE
VIRGINIA NHRA NATIONALS
DINWIDDIE, Va. (June 08, 2018) — Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car are the provisional leaders at the inaugural Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond, Va. Robert Hight follows closely in the No. 2 spot, John Force rounds out the Funny Cars in sixth and Brittany Force is No. 2 in Top Fuel.

Being in a new environment and encountering the warmest conditions so far this season have done nothing to deter Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts team, headed by crew chiefs Dan Hood and Brian Corradi. In both sessions, Force was quickest and, both times, overtook the No. 1 spot from teammate Robert Hight; first with her 4.058-second pass at 319.82 mph and then again with her 3.983-second pass at 323.35 mph. Force is the first and, currently, only Funny Car to race in the three-second range at Virginia Motorsports Park and her second pass set both ends of the track record. TEAM CHEVY POST QUALIFYING VERIZON P1 AWARD WINNER QUICK QUOTE
JUNE 8, 2018

JOSEF NEWGARDEN, NO. 1 VERIZON TEAM PENSKE CHEVROLET, pole winner quick quote. It is the second Verizon P1 Award of the 2018 season for the defending Verizon IndyCar Series Champion, his first at Texas Motor Speedway and the fourth of his career.

“I was worried about Will (Power, Team Penske teammate). I’ve been picked by him before at the last minute; that is how the qualifying draw goes…and…he is good. Will knows how to put a good lap together, but he might have had a little blip on his first lap. So, it might have been really, really close if he didn’t have that.

“But obviously, it is a day for Team Penske. We aren’t going to be dissatisfied with our 1 – 2 – 3 regardless of the order. Obviously I’m really happy for being first, but I think the team is satisfied with that. But now we have to put our heads down, work hard in practice tonight and try to win this race.

“I still feel like (Kevin) Harvick, Kyle (Busch) and (Martin) Truex (Jr.) are probably your favorites, but I’m sure I’m a part of that group just based off of our last three races here at Michigan with the wins. Our car has been fast here lately and especially here at Michigan. Hopefully, we can put a nice race together and try and just be in position like we have been for the other three races for the late race restarts and try and take advantage of them. And hopefully get another win. It would be cool to get four in a row.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Michigan–Kyle Larson

Ninth Le Mans class win would add another highlight in 20th season

DETROIT (June 8, 2018) – With a successful Test Day in the rear-view mirror, it’s time for Corvette Racing to turn its focus toward the focal part of its season – the 86th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s the 19th consecutive appearance for the team at the French endurance classic… and undoubtedly its biggest challenge.

The two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs, fresh off eight hours of testing Sunday, are part of a 17-car field in the GTE Pro category. A victory would be the ninth for the program at Le Mans and quite possibly the most impressive. Continue reading CORVETTE RACING AT LE MANS: Date with Destiny Dawns

2018 BIGFOOT Open House Recap

2018 BIGFOOT Open House Recap

Pacific, MO (June 5, 2018) – WOW – what a day! Where to start? The 2018 BIGFOOT Open House was, by far, our favorite Open House to host. We had Bob Chandler, Jim Kramer, Dan Runte, George Link, George Smith, Larry Swim, Ron Bachmann, Darron Schnell, AJ Straatmann, Gene Patterson, Colt Cobra, and even a rare appearance by Josh Gibson and Vinny Venom. It seemed like everywhere you went there were current or former BIGFOOT drivers happily signing autographs for all of our fans.

Darron and Rodney did a great job on their exhibition performances. The crowd was loud and appreciative. These guys do not often get the chance to perform in front of their families, friends, and even peers.

Rodney Tweedy put on a great exhibition for the fans.

The Old Skool Monster Truck Competition was so cool! It was like going back to the 80’s all over again. The excitement and enthusiasm these guys brought was second to none. Talk about a Never Give Up attitude – these guys did everything they could to get over the cars, putting on a very exciting show! We hope to be able to have them back in 2019. Thanks to Jeff Krekeler for putting it all together and jumping through a million hoops to get it done – great job and thanks! CLICK HERE for a video of the Old Skool racing.

The Old Skool trucks were a great throwback to the early 80s style of monster truck racing.

Old Skook Monster Truck Competition Roster:

Jeff Krekeler High Roller II
Alan Fenstermaker Earthquake
Jeffrey Fielding Old Red Truck
Roni Esparza One Bad Hombre
Heath Padgett BFT
Scotty Cruise Blaine Crusher

Special shout out to Dick Browning and Industrial Technologies for letting us stage in your parking lot!

We also got to see the former BIGFOOT Fastrax just hanging out. Great job Chandler Lloyd, and thanks for bringing it and spending time talking with everyone.
