FOND MEMORIES FUEL BRITTANY’S SEATTLE BID

SEATTLE, Wash. (July 16, 2025) – On a track on which her dad won nine times in his spectacular Funny Car career, two-time World Champion Brittany Force tries to start a streak of her own this week when she sends her HendrickCars.com Chevrolet after the Top Fuel championship in the 36th NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways. 

“(I’m) excited to be back in the HendrickCars.com colors this weekend,” said the 18-time tour winner and only woman to have won as many as 300 racing rounds in drag racing’s signature category. “I’ve been coming to this track since I was a kid and have so many great memories.  

“I stood in my sister Courtney’s first winner’s circle back in 2012,” she said, recalling her younger sibling’s final round Funny Car win over Matt Hagan, “and I watched my dad make his way through the stands with the fans to celebrate his 150th win (in 2019) alongside Austin Prock,” who won the same race in a JFR Top Fuel dragster.

“The goal this week is to stand in that same winners’ circle with my nine talented HendrickCars.com crewmates,” she said, “and the key to doing that is consistent runs in qualifying and on race day.”

The NHRA national record holder for time (3.623 seconds) and speed (341.59 miles per hour), Force and a team led by crew chiefs David Grubnic and John Collins slowly have begun to regain the power and consistency that propelled them to the 2022 series championship in a season in which they qualified No. 1 at 10 of 22 races and posted top speed at 17 events. 

Significantly, that was the year that the second youngest of Force’s daughters had her best outing at Pacific Raceways, qualifying No. 1 and powering her way to the final before losing to Tony Schumacher.

She aims to go one round further Sunday and become the seventh different JFR driver to win the tour’s northwesternmost event following her dad, Eric Medlen (the 2005 Funny Car winner), her sister, Tony Pedregon (2002 FC winner), Robert Hight (FC champion in 2017 and 2022) and Prock.

Friday’s late night qualifying session will afford the former NHRA Rookie of the Year an opportunity to flex the performance muscles in her 11,000-horsepower hybrid, one of only three drag racing vehicles to have reached the finish line at a speed exceeding 340 mph.  

In addition to flying the HendrickCars.com banner, Brittany continues to support a philanthropic initiative launched by her sister and brother-in-law through the Graham and Courtney Rahal Foundation (GCRF) and Graham Rahal Performance (GRP).  

Funds from the campaign support the expansion of the Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters program at the University of Texas-Dallas which, in partnership with Virginia High Performance, addresses specific brain health issues of members of the military.

BECKMAN EYES MILESTONE AT NORTHWEST NATIONALS

SEATTLE, Wash. (July 16, 2025) – Poised to become just the 26th professional to win as many as 500 competitive rounds in drag racing’s premier series, “Fast Jack” Beckman hopes to celebrate that milestone this weekend with the crew of his PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS and fans attending the 36th NHRA Northwest Nationals.

“The entire PEAK Squad took the two-week break to overprepare (for this week’s race) and we’re looking forward to putting our Chevrolet SS back in the winners’ circle,” said the 59-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran, who is back in competition at Pacific Raceways for the first time in six years.

“I’m not sure what I’m most looking forward to,” said the cancer survivor and 2012 Funny Car World Champion, “making our first qualifying run Friday at close to 10 p.m. when the conditions are going to be spectacular, getting to make THREE more qualifying hits on Saturday, or seeing all the great Northwest fans for the first time since 2019.”

Regardless, the 37-time pro tour winner whose lone Seattle win came in his first appearance in 2007 obviously is excited about his chances of again winning an event in which John Force, from whom he took the reins of the PEAK Chevy after last year’s crash at Richmond, Va., won a record nine times.

An accomplished driving instructor and former World Champion in the NHRA Sportsman division (Super Comp in 2003), Beckman has won 498 racing rounds since turning pro in 2005, all but four of them at the wheel of a Funny Car, first for Don Schumacher Racing and, since last August, for John Force Racing.

That he has the opportunity to reach 500 is a bit surreal insomuch as he had resigned himself to the fact that his driving career was over when sponsorship issues compelled Schumacher to park two of his Funny Cars at the end of the 2020 season.

Without a ride, Beckman returned to his job as an elevator repair technician and, frankly, never expected to leave it.

However, that all changed following the accident that left Force with a Traumatic Brain Injury for which he continues to receive treatment on an outpatient basis.

Over the last eight races of 2024, Beckman won twice (both times in the Countdown to the Championship) and, after starting sixth in Mission Foods points, wound up second behind only JFR teammate Austin Prock, who is the only driver ahead of him in the current standings.

In a PEAK Chevy tuned to 335 mile-an-hour perfection by Daniel Hood, Chris Cunningham and Tim Fabrisi, he has won two more races this season, one of them at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip in California, a track on which he has won his last four Funny Car starts. 

PROCK, CORNWELL CREW RELISH RETURN TO SEATTLE

SEATTLE, Wash. (July 16, 2025) – Reigning World Champion Austin Prock doesn’t have to look very far for reasons to celebrate this week’s return to Pacific Raceways, the track on which he and his national record-holding Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS are favored to repeat as Funny Car champions in the 36th NHRA Northwest Nationals. 

“Excited to be in Seattle this weekend,” said the 29-year-old who is seeking his third straight victory on the Mission Foods tour. “This is a track that has a special place in my heart. Winning my first event here in Top Fuel back in 2019 while the boss (John Force) captured his 150th was a memory for the books.”

That breakthrough Top Fuel win, which came at the expense of then World Champ Steve Torrence, was the catalyst in securing NHRA Rookie-of-the-Year recognition for the fourth-generation racer.  

“I’m ready to get back in the office and I’m itching for that first session on Friday night,” Prock said of his return to the Northwest. “The fans are in for a treat. The conditions should be good. The trees (that surround the track) will be letting off some fresh O2, the Gs’ will be high, and the front end will be light on the ‘Prock Rocket.’”

That’s a recipe that has produced success not only for Prock, who is racing Funny Cars for just the second season, but also for his predecessor in the Cornwell Chevrolet, three-time World Champion Robert Hight.

The common denominator is a crew led by Austin’s dad, Jimmy, that, since the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, has sent a Cornwell Chevy to the final round in 40 of 113 races with 26 wins, two of them at Pacific Raceways where Hight hoisted the trophy in 2022.

“I really, truly enjoy drag racing,” Prock said, alluding to his past success driving quarter midgets and sprint cars out of Tony Stewart’s shop with the help of his brother, Thomas, now a key member of the Cornwell crew. “I loved running the Top Fuel car (in the 2019, 2022 and 2023 seasons), but Funny Car is where I belong. 

“I’ve said before that I always dreamed of driving one like my grandpa (1970s era Funny Car driver Tom Prock), and I am having an absolute blast,” he beamed. “I’m loving every second of it. I love the challenge of these cars. I love sitting behind the engine.  I love the body dropping. And to top it off, I’m doing it with my family.”

Since first sliding into the seat of the Cornwell Chevy to start the 2024 season, Prock has won 12 times while racing to the fastest speed in NHRA history, a national record-setting 341.68 miles per hour last fall at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip, and posting the quickest unofficial time ever at 3.793 seconds last March in testing at Bradenton, Fla.

Before he begins his Seattle title defense on Sunday, the professionally trained chef will participate in the Mission Foods 2Fast/2Tasty Challenge that provides semifinalists from the most recent event in the series a “do-over” opportunity during Saturday qualifying that pays off in both points and cash. 

Lucrative Silver Dollar Nationals Week at Huset’s Speedway

Drane Versus Saathoff Returns to Centerstage

(July 16, 2025) – A heated battle atop the AFT Singles presented by KICKER standings arrives with Progressive American Flat Track, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, as it makes its Wheatland, Missouri, debut for the first-ever Short Track at Lucas Oil Speedway on Friday, July 18.  …And in This Corner…  Entering the 2025 season, all eyes were on presumed 450cc title fighters Tom Drane (No. 59 Estenson Racing Yamaha YZ450F) and Chase Saathoff (No. 88 RWR/Parts Plus Honda CRF450R).  As it went, the class’ three-time but not-defending champion, Kody Kopp (No. 1 Bob Lanphere/KTM/Fastrack Racing KTM 450 SX-F), wasn’t quite ready to relinquish the spotlight, claiming double victory at the season opener during DAYTONA Bike Week.  And then rookie sensation Kage Tadman (No. 288 Roof Systems/Old Oak Ranch KTM 450 SX-F) came from seemingly nowhere to upend the class’ power hierarchy with a pair of stunning wins in his first two attempts.  But now as the season opens its second half – Drane and Saathoff have returned to centerstage.  Drane is absolutely rolling, having secured three victories in succession while soaring up the class’ career leaderboards in multiple categories.  Saathoff, meanwhile, has been nearly as quick, and, as a result, remains the only rider left in the chase who sits within single-race striking distance.  And it’s not just that the two are finally proving themselves the class of the field as expected, there’s also the undeniable heat to their rivalry.  The fact that they are as well matched in terms of speed and skill as they are has naturally created multiple chances for on-track clashes throughout their young careers. Those chances have resulted in crashes of both the near and actual variety, along with heightened emotion and exchanged words.  While a chummier paddock than most, rivalry is very much a feature of the sport. And any number of champions over the years have found the benefit in viewing their adversaries as, well, adversaries. Some might even argue that the legendary Jared Mees sought ways to make it so, as his prior and resumed friendships with the likes of Bryan Smith and Briar Bauman were put on temporary hold during the peak of their times as competing title fighters.  Fortunately, both Drane and Saathoff are mature beyond their years and calculated in their respective approaches. So long as everything stays above board, the past drama only makes the prospect of their future battles that much more intriguing.  Rookies Rising Along with Kopp’s successful send-off and the evolution of Drane vs. Saathoff, the third major story of the season has been the bumper crop of rookies.  Tadman is the headliner with those remarkable back-to-back wins in his first two professional events. However, he is far from alone.  Walker Porter (No. 100 American Honda/Mission Foods CRF450R) hit the ground running despite jumping in near midseason. The 2024 Nicky Hayden AMA Flat Track Horizon Award winner showed himself to be a top-five talent in his debut weekend, and he has the ability to do much more than that as the second half of the season plays out.  Meanwhile, Ryder Reese (No. 244 Mission Foods/Roof Systems KTM 450 SX-F) made his Progressive AFT debut the same weekend as Porter. And despite being lost in the long shadows cast by Tadman and Porter, he also came away with a top ten in his first weekend as a pro.  That same feat was pulled off earlier in the season, when Ethan Kitchen (No. 105 Lucky Thumb M/C Yamaha YZ450F) did it at the Daytona opener.  And finally, there’s Skylar Sentell (No. 249 Hoffer Performance/Stauffer Motors KTM 450 SX-F), who finished tenth at the Lima Half-Mile II – a race that featured four rookies in the top ten.  There are some other quick first-year riders in the field who continue to get closer and closer to making their mark as well.  The sport’s future is not just coming. It’s already here.  Emergence Day  Between Drane/Saathoff and the rookies is a healthy next group, with any number of contenders hoping to make the leap to the front.  Trevor Brunner (No. 21 American Honda/Mission Foods CRF450R) is the hardest to place because he’s somewhere between that first and next group. While he did defeat Drane to take the checkered flag in the Lima Half-Mile I Mission Triple Challenge Race II, Brunner is still seeking his first official race victory of 2025. You have to think it’s coming – he’s yet to go winless in four prior seasons in the class despite battling with the likes of Dallas Daniels and Kody Kopp over that span.  Tarren Santero (No. 75 Mission Roof Systems Honda CRF450R) has been the next best. He’s taken yet another step forward with a pair of podium finishes in ‘25. That said, he’s got to make another big jump in order to become a regular thorn in the sides of the leading duo.  Beyond Brunner and Santero, you have the likes of Evan Renshaw (No. 65 1st Impressions Race Team Husqvarna FC450), Aidan RoosEvans (No. 26 FRA Trust/ATV’s and More Yamaha YZ450F), Bradon Pfanders (No. 83 Hannum’s HD/Pfanders Racing KTM 450 SX-F), Jared Lowe (No. 63 Big R/Little Debbie Racing Honda CRF450R), and Hunter Bauer (No. 24 Vinson Construction/Reel Medics Yamaha YZ450F) – all of whom seem to take turns in demonstrating genuine brilliance but none of whom have yet to find a way to channel it consistently.   But AFT Singles is the class where bouts of inconsistency can get ironed out and done so in a hurry.   Go Party, Go Play, and Go Kart  Fans who come out to the track on Friday night will find no shortage of entertainment options beyond just the world-class racing.   The Fan Party – complete with a Rider Q&A session – will run from 5:00 p.m. local time right up until Opening Ceremonies at 7:00 p.m.   Those in attendance will also have a chance to take advantage of the on-site go-karting, the Diamond Bar, DJ’d music, a multitude of vendors lining the midway, Jumbotron viewing, designated motorcycle parking, and a variety of food and beverage options.  Seats, Suites, and Fan Experiences  General Admission Grandstand tickets for the Short Track at Lucas Oil Speedway are just $25 (kids 12 and under free with a paid adult ticket), while Reserved Grandstand tickets are available for $40 (all ages). What to Watch for on the streets of Toronto:

  • A win a weekend: Honda has scored a victory in every single NTT INDYCAR SERIES weekend so far in 2025, taking the top step of the podium in 11 of 12 races—every race except Race 1 of the Iowa doubleheader weekend. Honda teams and drivers have won on every major track type in IndyCar—road courses, street circuits, speedways and short ovals. The 11 wins are split between Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou (St. Pete, Thermal, Barber, Indy GP, Indy 500, Road America, Iowa), Scott Dixon (Mid-Ohio) and Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood (Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Detroit, World Wide Technology Raceway). Palou leads the drivers’ championship by 129 points, Dixon sits third and Kirkwood is P4. Additionally, Honda also holds the lead in the manufacturers’ standings by 208 points, 1147 to 939.
  • Street circuit supremacy: Honda has been the dominant manufacturer on street circuits in the last few seasons, winning all but one race on the streets across 2023, 2024 and thus far in 2025. Honda drivers swept the five street circuits in 2023, including a podium sweep in Long Beach and Toronto. 2024 saw wins on three of the four street circuits for Honda, notching podium sweeps at Long Beach and Detroit—as well as a Honda 1-7 on the streets of Toronto. Thus far in 2025, Honda has seen victory in all three street circuit events, with Alex Palou taking the opening round at St. Petersburg and Kyle Kirkwood emerging victorious at both the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and the Detroit Grand Prix.
  • Success in the 6ix: Honda-powered drivers and teams have a history of success at Toronto, winning 13 times in both CART and INDYCAR competition, most recently with Colton Herta leading home a Honda 1-7 in the 2024 edition of the race—completing three race wins in a row for Honda in Toronto. Christian Lundgaard won the 2023 event, his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES win, while Scott Dixon scored his fourth win on the streets of Toronto in 2022. Dario Franchitti, Will Power, Michael Andretti, Alex Zanardi and Adrian Fernandez have also scored wins for Honda on the streets of Exhibition Place.

THE DOTY PANDEMONIUM: Carson Macedo Claims Wild Brad Doty Classic

The Californian comes from eighth to top a four-leader thriller at Attica

ATTICA, OH (July 15, 2025) – You name it, and it likely happened at the 2025 Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by dac Vitamins and Minerals.

Tuesday night at Attica Raceway Park will be one fans are talking about for a long time. Four different leaders. Charges through the field. Intense battles for the top spot. Leaders spinning. Once the green flag flew, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action was endless.

Early on Michael “Buddy” Kofoid took command. Traffic allowed polesitter Kyle Larson to snatch the lead for two laps before Kofoid reclaimed it. Sheldon Haudenschild then surged into contention, and he and Kofoid nearly made contact as Kofoid tripped on the Turn 4 cushion and did a 360. That allowed Haudenschild to take the lead, but heartbreak hit the Wooster, OH native with four laps remaining as the cushion also bit him and he spun after looking destined to win.

After all that calamity, it was Carson Macedo inheriting P1 due to Haudenschild’s spin. The Lemoore, CA native started back in eighth and made his way forward with some daring moves that included a three-wide pass to steal third. After getting to the runner-up spot, Haudenschild gave Macedo a gift, and he had no plans of giving it back.

Macedo ripped ahead on the restart. Kofoid gave him one brief challenge in an effort at redemption, but he couldn’t find enough speed. The Jason Johnson Racing pilot held on and added his name to the history books as a Brad Doty Classicwinner.

“I really felt like I was running pretty hard on the top, about as hard as I could and maybe even overdriving it,” Macedo said. “But Sheldon was driving like four times harder than me, so I actually backed it down thinking maybe something would happen. He almost got over the edge one time in (Turns) 1 and 2. Then he ended up getting over the curb. I mean, it was no fault of his own. He was doing a great job, just really tricky and treacherous and easy to get over it. It was kind of marbly really, and that’s why guys were able to slide and almost clear you.

“Hats off to Philip Dietz, Adam Zimmerman, and Robby McQuinn. We changed a few things tonight that we thought might be a little bit better, and I think it definitely seemed to be really good there. I was able to get my wing back and get squeezed back in the track late in the race. Hats off to them. Just a cool race to win.”

The victory is the sixth of the 2025 campaign for Macedo and his second in the last three races. The 29-year-old became the 26th different winner of “The Doty” since the event first began in 1989. He joined Tyler Walker, Jason Meyers, and Kyle Larson as the fourth Californian to come out on top. He had won at Attica with FAST in 2017 and the All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) in 2018, but Tuesday was his first at the 1/3 mile with The Greatest Show on Dirt.

The runner-up spot went to Buddy Kofoid after he led the most laps aboard the Roth Motorsports No. 83. The Penngrove, CA native will no doubt be left thinking what could’ve been after having such a strong car and spinning while fighting for the lead with Haudenschild. Even with looping it, Kofoid still salvaged his ninth consecutive podium as he continues to build momentum.

“I kind of saw him (Haudenschild) and figured if I stayed where I was, he was going to get into me,” Kofoid said of when he spun. “And I didn’t want to lift for him, so I figured if I could get around him, I could be okay. Then we were just a little tight, and it just grabbed me wrong and pulled me over but glad to keep going. Once I got behind those guys I feel like I could do the opposite of what they were doing, and my car got actually even better. I still feel like we had the car to beat, just the cards didn’t fall our way.”

The final position on the podium went to Donny Schatz after a remarkable charge toward the front. The 10-time Series champion took the Tony Stewart/Curb Agajanian Racing No. 15 from 16th to third. It marked the second straight season he’s marched from outside the top 10 to the podium. The performance supplies Schatz with momentum as he prepares to chase a record-tying seventh Kings Royal crown later this week.

“I think a lot of guys made mistakes,” Schatz observed during his run to the front. “These Carquest/Advance guys had the car really good here. Obviously the longer the race went the better we got. I think the cushion was pretty treacherous with several people leading it, and it bit them. If things would’ve fallen our way a little bit, I don’t know if the yellow would’ve come out if we’d have been better or not. That’s part of this race. Forty laps here is pretty grueling. The guys did a great job. We salvaged a pretty good night, and hopefully it turns into a pretty good week.”

Logan Schuchart and Kyle Larson completed the top five.

David Gravel made it a dozen Simpson Quick Times in 2025 during Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying presented by Jon & Janet Wright.

NOS Energy Drink Heat Races presented by Kistler Racing Products belonged to Buddy Kofoid (NOS Energy Drink Heat One), Sheldon Haudenschild (Real American Beer Heat Two), David Gravel (WIX Filters Heat Three), and Kyle Larson (TheGreatestStoreonDirt.com Heat Four).

The SPA Technique #1 Redraw went to Kyle Larson.

Larson also topped the Toyota Dash presented by Racing Optics.

James McFadden won the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown presented by UUI.

Pierce Pockets $25,053 on Tuesday at Shelby County Speedway

HARLAN, IA (July 15, 2025) – Bobby Pierce won a thrilling Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FlorRacing event on Tuesday night at Shelby County Speedway, as he led the final 14 laps of the Kosiski Family 53, earning $25,053 for his second Series win of the year. Pierce, who started seventh, passed Ricky Thornton Jr. on lap 39 and then went on to win by 1.249 seconds over fellow Illini driver Brandon Sheppard, who finished second after starting in 12th. Thornton, who started sixth, led three laps and rounded out the Big River Steel Podium in third. Hudson O’Neal, who had to take a provisional starting from the 23rd spot, finished fourth, with Jonathan Davenport, who led the first 36 laps, coming home in fifth.  Pierce went to Lucas Oil Victory Lane for the 26th time in his career, surviving a three-wide race for the lead to claim the victory as the Oakwood, Illinois, racer was making his first career start at the Western Iowa facility. “First off, I’ve got to say thank you to Shelby County Speedway — it’s an awesome race track. Thank you to all the fans for coming out tonight and packing this place. I kind of had to make some of the holes myself with the sliders; those were just death sliders there. I knew I had to make them check-up. We just had to get something going; we needed a consistent line of cars running the top. I was waiting on Brandon (Overton) to make another move like he did before— that one caution he started sliding Thornton, so that let me get in the mix, but someone had to start it, so I just started throwing the bombs.” “What an awesome race, JD and I were pushing hard, and I let Thornton get in there. Former Weekly Series champion reunites with longtime supporter of grassroots racing
STUART, Va. (July 15, 2025) – Wood Brothers Racing today announced a new partnership with Advance Auto Parts that will see the leading automotive aftermarket parts provider serve as the primary partner for one race with the No. 21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse driven by Josh Berry for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover Motor Speedway on July 20.

Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Advance Auto Parts operates nearly 4,300 stores across the United States, with additional locations in Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, serving both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers. Bauman, Daniels All Even as Grand National Championship Brawls Arrive for Short Track at Lucas Oil Speedway

(July 15, 2025) – Progressive American Flat Track, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will at last arrive in Wheatland, Missouri, for the inaugural Short Track at Lucas Oil Speedway this Friday, July 18.  Back Again for the Very First Time  Originally scheduled for early June, inclement weather forced a mid-July return for the Grand National Championship. Everything stated ahead of the postponed round regarding the series’ 20th all-time visit to Missouri still holds true.   Progressive AFT will finally make its debut appearance at the spectacular Lucas Oil Speedway, which is well established as a Midwestern mecca of four-wheel dirt track racing. Known as the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks,” Lucas Oil Speedway boasts a 3/8-mile clay oval, a 1.2-mile offroad track, a go-kart circuit, and Lake Lucas for drag-boat racing.   The facilities and amenities are equally impressive, making the venue a most deserving setting to play host to the world’s greatest motorcycle dirt track racers on Friday night.   Halfway Home and Right Back Where We Started  With eight races down and eight races to go, the Mission AFT SuperTwins title fight is currently separated by the second tiebreaker.  Prior to the start of the season, there was some concern that the series – which is typically defined by its trademark close-fought title fights – might be forced to take a temporary hiatus from that status.  Despite winning a record ten premier-class titles, Jared Mees usually did so in nail-biting fashion, his blowout championship wins in ‘17 and ‘18 being very much the exception. In fact, Mees spent nine of the last eleven years of his career locked in highly competitive and endlessly entertaining championship battles.   The last six of those were spent attempting to first fend off Briar Bauman (No. 3 RWR/Parts Plus/Latus Motors Harley-Davidson XG750R) and then later Dallas Daniels (No. 32 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07 DT).  The introduction of an all-production-based ruleset in 2025 led many to believe that – while the right move for the series for the long term – there could be some short-term pain associated with it coming in the form of the potential dominant pairing of Daniels and his well-developed Yamaha MT-07 DT.  That has not been the case.   As brilliant as Daniels has been (as evidenced by 21 straight podiums), Bauman has been equally so. Mees’ former foils have found each other and are now actively assembling their own rivalry – one that could potentially define the series for the next decade or so.  Just how evenly matched did the Daniels/Yamaha and Bauman/Harley combos prove to be over the season’s opening half?  162 points for Bauman. 162 points for Daniels.  Four wins for Bauman. Four wins for Daniels.   Beyond that, Bauman currently holds the tiebreaker with three runners-up to Daniels’ two.  Meanwhile, Daniels has the slight edge in consistency, with a worst result of third to Bauman’s fifth – the only result for either rider to end up off the box all year long.  A look ahead at the eight remaining races suggests an equally fierce second half. It’s easy to project minor advantages for one or the other at specific tracks, but it’s nearly impossible to discern an obvious window for either to shake free of the other.  Production Rules Have Proven as Productive as Predicted  While Bauman and Daniels have turned this into a two-rider fight at the top of the points standings, there has been plenty of shine to go around, both for other riders and for other manufacturers.  While still seeking his first win on the XG750R, Brandon Robinson (No. 44 Mission Roof Systems Harley-Davidson XG750R) has reliably been the third-best rider on the scene, and it seems only a matter of time before he finally puts the #44 Harley on top of the box.  James Ott (No. 19 G&G Racing Yamaha MT-07) and Declan Bender (No. 70 Memphis Shades/Corbin/OTB Racing Yamaha MT-07) joined Daniels to complete a Yamaha lock-out of the podium at DuQuoin, proving beyond any shadow of doubt that Daniels and Estenson Racing are not the only ones who can turn the MT-07 into a formidable flat tracker.  Worries that KTM would lose relevance in Mission AFT SuperTwins due to the defection of Bauman and Rick Ware Racing to Harley’s camp have shown to be ill-founded as a result of the respective performances of Davis Fisher (No. 67 Rackley Racing/Bob Lanphere’s BMC Racing KTM 790 Duke) and Jarod Vanderkooi (No. 20 Fastrack Racing/Wally Brown Racing KTM 790 Duke). While both riders come into Lucas Oil Speedway looking for a bounce-back effort, they’ve enjoyed some stellar moments early in the days on the KTM. Fisher ranks fourth in the points on the strength of a runner-up, third, and four top-four finishes, while VDK is fifth with a third, a fourth, and a fifth.  Trent Lowe (No. 48 American Honda/Progressive Insurance Honda Transalp) has consistently demonstrated the promise of Honda’s entry in the premier class, logging three sixths already in his first-full season of premier-class competition.  Dan Bromley (No. 62 Memphis Shades/Vinson Construction Suzuki GSX-8S), meanwhile, has been spectacular on the Suzuki on more than one occasion. While he does have a fourth and a fifth to show for his efforts, he’s flashed podium-caliber speed on the GSX-8S.  Max Whale (No. 18 Moto Anatomy X Powered by Royal Enfield 650) has already finished inside the top five in the first half of his first season with Royal Enfield. And like Bromley, Whale has shown there is room for further growth with moments suggesting there is plenty more to come.  And don’t forget about Kawasaki. Henry Wiles (No. 911 J&M Logging/Ray C’s Harley-Davidson Kawasaki Ninja 650) put a Ninja on the box at the season opener. And more recently, Dalton Gauthier (No. 79 Racing Unlimited/Parts Bros/D&D Cycles Kawasaki Ninja 650) piloted one to sixth last time out at DuQuoin.  Pretty much everyone above should only improve with more time to adapt and dial in their equipment.  Eight down and eight to go? MEYER SISTERS MAKE STRONG RETURN IN IHRA NITRO OUTLAW SERIES DEBUT

The Meyer sisters made a long-awaited return to Top Alcohol Dragster competition at the opening round of the IHRA Nitro Outlaw Series at Darana Raceway in Hebron, OH, and they wasted no time reminding fans and competitors what they’re capable of.

In her first quarter-mile pass in over two years—and without a single test run—Rachel Meyer clocked a solid 5.42 ET at 252 mph, knocking the dust off in style. Her confidence quickly returned as she improved to a 5.35 ET at 260 mph during Q2.

Megan Meyer came out swinging in Q1 with the quickest and fastest pass of the entire event, running a blistering 5.23 ET at 274 mph. She backed it up with a 5.29 ET at 269 mph during a fun Q2 matchup against Rachel. The sisters had a friendly bet riding on the round: whoever lost had to clean the winner’s car with GUNK engine degreaser—Megan claimed bragging rights and the cleaner car.

Both drivers carried momentum into eliminations. Megan defeated Jeff Chatterson in round one with a 5.31 to his 5.59, while Rachel outran Tom Fox with a 5.33 to 5.43 win. But Mother Nature had other plans. A major rainstorm swept through the facility between rounds, drastically changing the track and weather conditions. Despite valiant efforts, both sisters smoked the tires in round two due to mismatched tune-ups in the new conditions.

“Our focus this weekend was to first have fun, and second win,” said Megan. “We’re doing this for our family, to race together again like the old days. I want to thank the crew who spent their time off from the regular NHRA races to come here and help us have two amazing cars. Without their help none of this would be possible. We didn’t have the outcome we were hoping for, but we know there’s tough competition and they keep us on our toes. We’re always pushing to be better, and we’ll take what we learned into the next race at Milan Dragway in two weeks.”

“IHRA gave us a great track even after all the rain and the on-track incidents,” added Rachel. “The hospitality was top notch, with not one but two racer appreciation dinners, plus ice being delivered every morning. Seriously, thank you guys for everything! I can’t wait to do it again in two weeks and hope we make it to the finals.”

Six competitors have claimed multiple checkered flags, with David Gravel being the most recent as he picked up his second last year.It’s also proven to be an event where the host state shines. Nine of the 25 winners are Ohio natives. Chillicothe’s Danny Smith and Hartford’s Dale Blaney are Buckeyes who have topped multiple events.ATTICA ACES: There are many drivers with plenty of Attica success still looking to tame the Brad Doty Classic.Ohio’s own Sheldon Haudenschild badly wants to add a Brad Doty Classic to his résumé. He’s won at Ohio locally (2013) and twice with the All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC).Michael “Buddy” Kofoid has had speed from his very first visit to Attica. The Hanover, PA native owns six “Big E” victories, including the highest paying race in the sport’s history, the 2023 Eldora Million. His best finish in the crown jewel with Shark Racing is a 2019 runner-up.Carson Macedo has had no problem winning at Eldora in the month of July, but he’s had a little trouble doing so with the crown on the line. All three of his triumphs at the half mile have come during Kings Royal week, just not on the final night. The Jason Johnson Racing driver’s best finale finish is third twice.Just like “The Doty,” the Kings Royal is another important missing piece for Sheldon Haudenschild. His legendary father Jac Haudenschild won it three times. Nick Hoffman Wins Summer Nationals Finale, Jason Feger Clinches Second Overall Title

ORRVILLE, OH — July 13, 2025 — Owning the title as the all-time DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals winner, Nick Hoffman has waited since running Late Models in 2018 to visit Victory Lane for the first time.

On Sunday night, the Mooresville, NC driver took his Tye Twarog Racing machine to the breakthrough win in the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Models finale at Wayne County Speedway for redemption after losing the same win last year to a flat tire.

Polesitter Trey Mills, front row starter Jason Feger, and 2024 champion Tyler Erb swapped lanes through slide jobs on the opening three laps, with Feger taking the lead as Erb took second, and Mills in third.

Feger held the No. 1 Rocket Chassis at bay until the first caution flew on Lap 14 for a flat right rear tire on Mills’ No. 14JR while racing against Nick Hoffman in third place.

On the restart, Erb attempted a slide job on Feger, but the Bloomington, IL driver kept the lead as Hoffman drove under Erb around Turns 3-4 to take second while Mark Whitener crossed Erb in Turn 1 by driving to the cushion, then slicing to the bottom to outrun him across the backstretch.

At the front, Feger continued to show the way as Hoffman tried to contend for second place and Zack Mitchell in third.

In the closing 15 laps, Hoffman moved up from the bottom lane and found momentum on the top as he made steady gains in the chase towards Feger.

As Feger suffered from an ailing right rear tire, Hoffman’s NOS Energy Drink No. 9 showed the way around the cushion as Mitchell followed behind.

On Lap 35, Feger’s right rear tire came apart as Hoffman, Mitchell, and Ryan Gustin led the field back to the final restart of the Feature.

Hoffman withstood Mitchell’s final attempts at the lead by keeping his Longhorn Chassis glued to the cushion as the “Thrill from Mooresville” captured his first career Hell Tour win.

“Last year, I came here and did that one start at Wayne County, led and got a flat (tire),” Hoffman said. “I kind of knew what not to do, and that kind of same situation happened tonight, where Feger was out front. He ends up getting that flat, and I inherit the lead. I felt like he was going to be a sitting duck late in that race, and it got to be that point where my stuff was still good at the end.

“It’s kind of a relief off your shoulders because there’s a lot of Modified guys that have won both, but for me being the guy that’s won the most Modified races, I got to get one of these Late Model ones.”

Though Feger ended the night in 15th place, Erb finishing 18th gifted the “High Side Hustler” his second career overall title with the Summer Nationals by 93 points, leaving the Buckeye State finale. 

While Mitchell finished second to Hoffman, he secured the Week 5 points championship after scoring his first three Summer Nationals wins through six career starts.

Tyler Nicely Ends Ohio Weekend With Eighth Summit Modified Nationals Score of 2025

As the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Models crowned a new champion at Wayne County Speedway, Tyler Nicely padded his points lead in the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals.

The Owensboro, KY local got his third consecutive win of the season on Sunday night after exemplifying his season of dominance over his UMP Modified competitors as the finale at the Prairie Dirt Classic awaits.

On the opening lap, Nicely split through the middle lane as he, Kyle Moore, and Nate Young made up second and third place.

Nicely controlled the pace by running his No. 25 Elite Chassis to the top of the 3/8-mile track’s cushion while Moore and Young spent time battling in second and third place.

As Michael Altobelli joined the mix in the fight for the podium, the three drivers racing each other helped Nicely widen his lead further as Altobelli’s No. 35 took over second place on Lap 13.

When the final caution flag flew on Lap 19, Blue Grass State native outran the field into Turn 1 as Altobelli threw a final passing attempt at Nicely, but was not close enough to the No. 25 to make the move work in his favor. As a result, Nicely drove to his eighth win of the season, and the 19th in his career with the Summit Modified Nationals.

“I mean the main goal was to come out here and win some races,” Nicely said. “We didn’t plan on running the rest of this deal, but after that first week, we figured we’d give it a shot, and it looks like it all paid off. I think this one just put all the pressure off at the PDC. So, we’ll go back home, see my two kids, freshen this thing up a little bit, and be ready to go at Fairbury.”

HUGE PRIZE MONEY ON THE LINE FOR NARC SPRINT CARS AT HOWARD KAEDING CLASSIC THIS WEEKEND

(7/14/25 – Andrew Kunas) Watsonville, CA … One of the most special events of the season for the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series is next when it visits Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, this Friday and Saturday (July 18-19), for the 15th Annual Howard Kaeding Classic.

The event honors the patriarch of the famed Kaeding family that includes his Hall of Fame son Brent, and grandsons Bud and Tim. HK, as he was known to his friends, was a champion racer in his own right, most especially at the old San Jose Speedway where he won several championships and at one point famously won 17 consecutive races. The race saluting the “Campbell Comet” was already a staple in the California 410 sprint car schedule, but this year’s event has taken on special meaning with Howard passing away in February at the age of 92.

Before Howard’s passing, it was already announced that this year’s event would be a two-night show. Now in just the last couple of weeks it was announced that Saturday’s purse will see an increase, with the main event paying $10,000 to win ($1,500 to start A), while Friday’s show pays a neat $5,000 ($750 to start A.)  This was made possible by many generous sponsorships from companies with ties to the Kaeding family and the racing community.

WHO TO WATCH

With the added special meaning to the event, not to mention the now five-figure payday on the final night, many of the top drivers on the West Coast will be competing hard for victories.

Reigning “King of the West” Justin Sanders of Aromas won his second Howard Kaeding Classic last year, one of his seven victories on his way to the 2024 NARC title. Sanders has four NARC wins to his credit this season, including a win at Ocean Speedway in May, but is locked in a tight points race atop the standings with former series champion D.J. Netto of Hanford, who is just one point ahead of Sanders. Netto, meanwhile, has never won a Kaeding Classic and would love to add one to his resume.

Of course, no racer out there would love to win this weekend more than brothers Tim and Bud Kaeding, who will be racing with heavy hearts at the race honoring their grandfather. Bud has twice won the HK, picking up wins in 2014 and 2019. Tim picked up his 75th career NARC victory on Saturday at Petaluma Speedway and like his father and grandfather is one of the most accomplished sprint car racers ever from California.  He has never won a Howard Kaeding Classic and Tim no doubt wants to get that first one this Saturday.

Fremont’s Shane Golobic, the 2023 Howard Kaeding Classic winner, is expected to compete, along with 2021 winner Sean Becker or Oroville. Tyler Thompson of Harrisburg, Oregon continues his search for his first NARC win but still sits third in points and leads the NARC Rookie of the Year chase. Fresno’s Caeden Steele, a first-time NARC winner in May, had an impressive run at last Saturday’s Petaluma event and will look to build off of that this weekend.

Other drivers expected to race this weekend include two-time series champ Dominic Scelzi of Fresno, Lemoore’s Gauge Garcia, Billy Aton of Benicia, Fresno’s Mariah Ede, Dominic Gorden of Clovis, and Tucson’s Nick Parker.

The Howard Kaeding Classic was first held in 2011 with Evan Suggs picking up the win. NARC great Jonathan Allard won the next two. Kyle Hirst leads all drivers with three wins in the prestigious event. Colby Copeland and current World of Outlaws standout Buddy Kofoid each have single HK victories as well.

Ocean Speedway is on the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, located at 2601 E Lake Ave. Friday’s show will have sport mods and hobby stocks in action also. On Saturday, NARC will be joined by the BCRA/WMR midgets, hobby stocks and modifieds.  Qualifying will get underway at 5:30 p.m. with opening ceremonies at approximately 6:00 p.m.  The pit gate opens at 2:00 p.m.

After the races on Friday there will be an “After Party” on the track grounds. There will also be the Howard Kaeding Luncheon on Saturday that will see proceeds benefiting the NARC Benevolent Fund. This is all part of the Howard Kaeding Classic weekend at Ocean Speedway.

This weekend’s races are of the “Cooler Weather Tour,” a stretch of races for NARC all taking place at tracks along the California coast and all expecting to have more comfortable coastal temperatures while the California interior bakes in summer heat. July 26th will see NARC make its annual visit to Santa Maria Speedway, before the series returns to Ocean Speedway on August 2nd for the Johnny Key Classic.

CORVETTE RACING AT SĀO PAULO: Another TF Corvette Podium

Runner-up LMGT3 finish in Brazil for No. 81 Z06 GT3.R as both Corvettes take points SĀO PAULO, Brazil (July 13, 2025) – TF Sport’s Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R program continued its strong momentum Sunday with a runner-up LMGT3 class finish for the No. 81 Corvette of Charlie Eastwood, Rui Andrade and Tom Van Rompuy at the Six Hours of Sāo Paulo.
The result was the best of the FIA World Endurance Championship season for the trio and its second straight podium following a third-place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Eastwood and Andrade also were part of TF Sport’s winning lineup a week prior at Imola with its European Le Mans Series Corvette program.
The finish Sunday for the No. 81 Corvette also elevated the three drivers and its squad from sixth to fifth in the LMGT3 Drivers and Teams standings after five of eight races.
As it has for a majority of the season, the No. 81 Corvette crew ran a faultless race with both Van Rompuy and Andrade moving up through the order with strong driving in a pair of double-stints and Eastwood driving the final 2.5 hours to the finish.
Both TF Sport Corvettes finished in the points for the second consecutive race and third time this year. Despite some early misfortunes, the No. 33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R trio of Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar and Ben Keating placed seventh in class to remain third in the championship standings.
A winner to start the season in Qatar, the No. 33 Corvette squad lost track position early through on-track contact and subsequent penalties, which forced the engineering team to move to an alternate driver rotation.
That resulted in Keating and Juncadella splitting the first two-thirds of the race and leaving it to Edgar to heroically bring home the No. 33 Corvette in the points.  
TF Sport and its Corvettes next will race at the FIA WEC’s lone North American race September 5-7 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
TF SPORT POST-RACE DRIVER QUOTESCHARLIE EASTWOOD, NO. 81 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SECOND IN LMGT3: “Another great result today with P2. As we’ve seen many times this year, TF Sport executed a really solid race – great strategy, no mistakes, no penalties, which I feel today there were more penalties than most WEC races, and we just were able to capitalize on that to get a great P2. I definitely feel like some momentum is behind me now. I had a tough sort of 18-month start to this journey but with now three podiums in a row with TF between Le Mans, Imola in ELMS and here, I’ve no doubt that we can continue to get podiums at every event to close out the year. So we need to look forward… first to have a nice break over the summer before a very busy late August into September. But I’ve no doubt we can get podiums and race wins every race to the end of the year and hopefully go into both Bahrain and Portimão, giving ourselves a chance at those championships.”
RUI ANDRADE, NO. 81 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SECOND IN LMGT3: “Another podium for the 81 crew and a third in a row for myself and Charlie. Great teamwork by the entire team to move us up the field after a difficult qualifying. And then a great final stint by Charlie to make the overtake which put us P2 at the flag. I’m super happy with this positive momentum and looking forward now to some rest during the summer break after some intense weeks of racing.”
DANIEL JUNCADELLA, NO. 33 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SEVENTH IN LMGT3: “It was a disappointing day. Three penalties that lost us around 55 seconds. So yeah, it’s a big deal. But I did enjoy the alternate strategy. I think it paid off very nicely in terms of track position to switch to myself after Ben’s first stint and then also after his second stint. I think that was very cool and I got to overtake a couple of cars. So that was nice. And then Jonny at the end, I think he did a great job. He was defending against the McLaren, which was clearly faster and he did really well. He also overtook the BMW so it was just perfect execution from him. Unfortunately there were still the penalties… things that happen. I think Ben didn’t have the best of days but we live and learn and hopefully get better for the next one.”
JONNY EDGAR, NO. 33 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SEVENTH IN LMGT3: “It was a tough day for us with some penalties that hurt our race. But the car felt great to drive and I am happy we still scored some points for the championship. The end for me was very tough on very old tires trying to defend from cars on newer ones. CORVETTE RACING AT SĀO PAULO: Another TF Corvette PODIUM

Runner-up LMGT3 finish in Brazil for No. 81 Z06 GT3.R as both Corvettes take points SĀO PAULO, Brazil (July 13, 2025) – TF Sport’s Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R program continued its strong momentum Sunday with a runner-up LMGT3 class finish for the No. 81 Corvette of Charlie Eastwood, Rui Andrade and Tom Van Rompuy at the Six Hours of Sāo Paulo.
The result was the best of the FIA World Endurance Championship season for the trio and its second straight podium following a third-place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Eastwood and Andrade also were part of TF Sport’s winning lineup a week prior at Imola with its European Le Mans Series Corvette program.
The finish Sunday for the No. 81 Corvette also elevated the three drivers and its squad from sixth to fifth in the LMGT3 Drivers and Teams standings after five of eight races.
As it has for a majority of the season, the No. 81 Corvette crew ran a faultless race with both Van Rompuy and Andrade moving up through the order with strong driving in a pair of double-stints and Eastwood driving the final 2.5 hours to the finish.
Both TF Sport Corvettes finished in the points for the second consecutive race and third time this year. Despite some early misfortunes, the No. 33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R trio of Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar and Ben Keating placed seventh in class to remain third in the championship standings.
A winner to start the season in Qatar, the No. 33 Corvette squad lost track position early through on-track contact and subsequent penalties, which forced the engineering team to move to an alternate driver rotation.
That resulted in Keating and Juncadella splitting the first two-thirds of the race and leaving it to Edgar to heroically bring home the No. 33 Corvette in the points.  
TF Sport and its Corvettes next will race at the FIA WEC’s lone North American race September 5-7 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.

I definitely feel like some momentum is behind me now. I had a tough sort of 18-month start to this journey but with now three podiums in a row with TF between Le Mans, Imola in ELMS and here, I’ve no doubt that we can continue to get podiums at every event to close out the year. So we need to look forward… first to have a nice break over the summer before a very busy late August into September. But I’ve no doubt we can get podiums and race wins every race to the end of the year and hopefully go into both Bahrain and Portimão, giving ourselves a chance at those championships.”
RUI ANDRADE, NO. 81 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SECOND IN LMGT3: “Another podium for the 81 crew and a third in a row for myself and Charlie. Great teamwork by the entire team to move us up the field after a difficult qualifying. And then a great final stint by Charlie to make the overtake which put us P2 at the flag. I’m super happy with this positive momentum and looking forward now to some rest during the summer break after some intense weeks of racing.”
DANIEL JUNCADELLA, NO. 33 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SEVENTH IN LMGT3: “It was a disappointing day. Three penalties that lost us around 55 seconds. So yeah, it’s a big deal. But I did enjoy the alternate strategy. I think it paid off very nicely in terms of track position to switch to myself after Ben’s first stint and then also after his second stint. I think that was very cool and I got to overtake a couple of cars. So that was nice. And then Jonny at the end, I think he did a great job. He was defending against the McLaren, which was clearly faster and he did really well. He also overtook the BMW so it was just perfect execution from him. Unfortunately there were still the penalties… things that happen. I think Ben didn’t have the best of days but we live and learn and hopefully get better for the next one.”
JONNY EDGAR, NO. 33 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SEVENTH IN LMGT3: “It was a tough day for us with some penalties that hurt our race. But the car felt great to drive and I am happy we still scored some points for the championship. The end for me was very tough on very old tires trying to defend from cars on newer ones. CORVETTE RACING AT CTMP: Runner-Up for No. 4 PMM Corvette

Luck goes the way of Milner, Catsburg for second place in GTD PRO BOWMANVILLE, Ontario (July 13, 2025) – Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and the No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R team gambled and won on strategy Sunday on the way to a second-place GTD PRO finish in the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
A call for a top-off of fuel under yellow by the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports engineering team with nearly 80 minutes to go reversed the fortunes for the Milner, Catsburg and the No. 4 Corvette, which lost time earlier in the pits and ran as far down as ninth in class. Two additional full-course yellow periods over the final 30 minutes – including one with 15 minutes left that ended the race – allowed Catsburg to hold position and put himself and Milner on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship podium for the first time this year. The result solidified Chevrolet’s lead in the GTD PRO Manufacturers Championship with four races left in the season. Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims also retained their Drivers Championship lead with a fourth-place finish in the No. 3 Corvette. The duo ran a more traditional strategy and looked likely to make the podium for the fifth time this season, thanks to a fuel advantage over two of the cars ahead of it when the final yellows flew. In GTD, Alec Udell and Robert Wickens posted the best finish of the season for the DXDT Racing No. 36 Corvette Z06 GT3.R effort. Wickens, racing a Corvette at CTMP for the first time, started third and drove the first 45 minutes before giving way to Udell to go the rest of the way. The pair was in the same position as the No. 3 Corvette and likely would have made the GTD podium without the late yellows due to the team’s fuel strategy. Matt Bell and Orey Fidani placed ninth in GTD with AWA’s No. 13 Corvette in the team’s home race. NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED SECOND IN GTD PRO: “It’s very nice to finish on the podium. It’s our first of the year, and it’s great to do it at the Chevrolet Grand Prix. But we do have a lot of work to do. We got a little bit lucky today. We need to figure out where things keep going wrong for us in the pitlane and figure out how to get the Corvette in a bit better window. We have work left but the guys worked really hard. We did a really good job in terms of Manufacturers points. The points for the 3 car guys today was good for their championship, too. So all good.”
ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED FOURTH IN GTD PRO: “It was super difficult strategy-wise to know what to do. You would do whatever you had to do and it obviously went the other way for us. In a way, I’m happy that we did our race. Without the last yellow, everyone ahead of us was tight (on fuel) so it was going to be another fight with the 77. The 4 car made that gamble on fuel and obviously it paid out. For all the loss we got for running the regular strategy, at least the 4 team got the most out of it. They had issues on their first two stops so that put them on the back foot but for once it worked. Great Manufacturer points for Chevrolet. It’s good that either the 3 or 4 Corvette is on the podium in any race. That’s what we need to achieve. Let’s see if at the next races we can get them both up there. But today I’m happy for Corvette Racing overall and we’ll move ahead for the next one.”
ALEXANDER SIMS, NO. 3 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED FOURTH IN GTD PRO: “It honestly wasn’t one of my most comfortable races for whatever reason. I made a bad call on the last restart; I got checked up by the Ford in front of me which compromised me but then made the wrong call going into Turn One with the Lambo on the inside. I tried to fight him, and if he didn’t back out then I was going to come off second-best by a long way. That happens. It’s really, really frustrating from my side to make that situation happen. I could have sucked it up and lost just one place. The team did a great job to get us back into the mix on strategy. I don’t know how it panned out on strategy. We initiated the strategy call and were proactive to get us back into the race, which was great. On the final restart I got back past the Lambo to reverse the situation from earlier. It was another crazy restart and I don’t know what happened. Thanks to the Pratt Miller team for getting our Corvette back nearer to the front. Huge congrats to the 4 car guys. They’ve had some tough races so it’s nice that they get a result.”
ROBERT WICKENS, NO. 36 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R – FINISHED FOURTH IN GTD: “Overall, a pretty good day for us at DXDT Racing. Gutted we didn’t make it on the podium, but I thought as a team we executed a near flawless race. So to come away with a top-five finish, first one of the year for me in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and my first top-five with Corvette, I think we can hold our heads high. And I think we have a lot of momentum moving forward to my next race in Road America in a couple weeks time.”The Corvette Z06 GT3.R was amazing to drive at my home race. ·        Chevrolet’s road course streak continued during NASCAR’s annual trip out west to Sonoma Raceway. In yet another dominating display on left- and right-hand turns, Shane van Gisbergen piloted his No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet to back-to-back trips to victory lane – taking the checkered flag in the  Toyota / Save Mart 350 to become the series’ fourth three-time winner in NASCAR’s top division this season.  
·        With fellow Team Chevy driver, Connor Zilisch, picking up the win in yesterday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race, Chevrolet now owns three-straight doubleheader weekend sweeps on road courses in NASCAR’s top-two divisions – dating back to Shane van Gisbergen (NCS) and Daniel Suarez’s (NXS) triumphs in Mexico City.  
·        For the second consecutive weekend, Trackhouse Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen led the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag from the pole position. The road course ace set sail on the opening lap in his No. 88 Chevrolet – building an early two-second margin by the halfway point of the opening stage. Van Gisbergen was one of the handful of lead pack drivers fighting left-rear grip in the closing laps of the stage. With pit strategy coming into play, crew chief Stephen Doran made the call to flip the stage – bringing his driver to pit road with three laps to go for the team’s first scheduled stop. Van Gisbergen ultimately cycled back up to the second position to take the first green-white checkered flag.
 ·        With an all-Chevrolet front-row for the start of Stage Two, Van Gisbergen regained the top position and paced the field throughout the stage – only giving up the lead to flip the stage on pit strategy. But the 36-year-old New Zealand still managed to power his Trackhouse Racing-prepared Chevrolet back to the lead to conclude a Team Chevy stage win sweep at the Northern California circuit.
 ·        With a 55-lap run on deck for the final stage of the race, Van Gisbergen lined up on the front-row once again and settled back into the top position. Continuing to put his road course skills on full display, Van Gisbergen went on to bring his laps led tally to 97 on the day en route to his third victory of the season.

Is that beyond your dreams?“I don’t dream about that stuff.. that’s why we work hard – to repay and reward everyone that helps make this happen. It was a tough start to the season, but we’re getting better and better. To win three NASCAR Cup Series races is unbelievable.”
