BRITTANY FORCE RUNNER-UP AT MAPLE GROVE RACEWAY

READING, PA — For the second time in three years Brittany Force raced to the final round at the Dodge NHRA Nationals. Today she was facing the two-time world champion Antron Brown in a rematch of the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. It was one of the closest final rounds so far in the Countdown as both dragsters ran identical elapsed times of 3.721 seconds. Force came up .003 of a second short to Brown after both drivers had nearly equal reaction times with Brown slightly edging Force, a three-time winner this season at the stripe.

“It was definitely a crazy challenging weekend. Everyone only got one qualifying pass, we blew up in the second round and that just makes it tough on everyone. I have a strong team behind me. They pulled through today and we made it to the finals. I have the greatest group of guys on this Monster Energy team. When I saw the time slip I couldn’t believe how close that race was,” said Force. Continue reading BRITTANY FORCE RUNNER-UP AT MAPLE GROVE RACEWAY

ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING TO ST. LOUIS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP BUMP

ST LOUIS (September 21, 2016) — In 2009 Robert Hight used a race win at the Countdown opening race in Charlotte to propel him to his first NHRA Funny Car championship. The 2005 NHRA Auto Club Road to the Future Rookie of the Year raced from the No. 10 spot to the championship on the strength of that win as well as two other wins over the final six races. That year Hight followed up his Carolina Nationals win with a first round defeat at the AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals. Last weekend Hight raced to the quarterfinals but the 37-time winner is not worried about slipping out of the Countdown conversation.

“I think if you can average semifinal finishes throughout the Countdown you should be in a position to have a shot at the championship when we roll into Pomona for the Auto Club Finals. Three of the last five Countdown races are sponsored by the Auto Club so I know I will see a lot of friendly faces and support. This weekend in St. Louis is a race I have won before and feel good about getting to. We tested on Monday (in Charlotte) and made some really quick runs in the heat and cooler conditions,” said Hight. Continue reading John Force Racing–St. Louis Advance

CHARLOTTE, NC (September 14, 2016) — For over three consecutive decades John Force has finished the NHRA season in the Top Ten. I am looking to get another championship and if I can’t then I am pulling for Robert or Courtney. I have a great hot rod and my young team is getting better. I am excited to be heading back to Charlotte. C. Force, B. Force Lead Strong JFR Contingent Into U. S. Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS – Courtney Force wrote her name into the Funny Car history books once again becoming the first female to win a Funny Car specialty race today at the 5th annual Traxxas Nitro Shootout at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Force racing in her first specialty race final round barely outran teammate and now three-time runner-up Robert Hight in an all-Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car final. Force’s winning time of 4.018 seconds was enough to hold off Hight’s 4.596 second run. Both JFR Funny Cars were powering down the track and shredding their blower belts from the enormous power created by the 10,000 horsepower motors.

“Dan Hood, Ronnie Thompson and the guys gave me a great car. My belt was shredding down there at the top end and I was just waiting for Robert to drive around me but we were able to get the win. For everyone at Traxxas, at Chevy, for Peak, for Monster, AAA and all our sponsors this was really a big win and the first time I have done this. This is so awesome for me and I just want to thank everyone at Traxxas and the series for having this, it’s a big win for the team,” said Force. Continue reading COURTNEY FORCE WINS TRAXXAS SHOOTOUT

HIGHT FINE AFTER Q3 BOOMER; JFR STEPS UP PACE ON SATURDAY

INDIANAPOLIS – Saturday at the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals was filled with a scary moment and improved performance numbers for John Force Racing. In the final qualifying session of the day three-time U.S. Nationals winner Robert Hight suffered a massive explosion running beside Dave Richards. He was on a run that would have easily moved him up in the qualifying standings before he suffered a suspected failure of his camshaft. Courtney Force and Brittany Force both improved on their performance numbers and everyone will head into the final day of qualifying safety qualified in the field.

Hight started the day with a solid 3.978 second run at 318.47 mph. In the heat of the day it was a good start for the Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car team. In Q3 with cooler temps and in front of a packed house Hight took off down the right lane and was blazing towards the finish line. With no warning his Auto Club Camaro body blew into pieces and shot to the left nearly colliding with Richards. Luckily for both drivers, Hight was able to control his bodiless Funny Car and stop it on the track without incident. He immediately exited the cockpit and a few minutes later was talking over the PA to the fans at Lucas Oil Raceway. Continue reading HIGHT FINE AFTER Q3 BOOMER; JFR STEPS UP PACE ON SATURDAY
