Menard Looking For Drama-Free Race At Kansas

May 9, 2018

For Paul Menard and the crew of his No. 21 Ford Fusion, the past two weeks have been ones of great potential and bitter disappointment.

At Talladega Superspeedway, he ran among the leaders early and often, winning Stage Two, leading eight laps and picking up 16 stage points only to be swept up in a multi-car crash not of his own making.

At Dover International Speedway, he had another fast Ford, topping the speed chart in the opening practice, then saw his march forward undone by a lengthy trip to the garage to have a damaged hub replaced. Continue reading Menard Looking For Drama-Free Race At Kansas

Glen was involved in a wreck in that first race, and the car burned up on the way home, but the brothers were undeterred. Today, the Wood Brothers brand is a household name among race fans, as is the case in their hometown of Stuart. Continue reading Glen And Leonard Wood To Receive Distinguished Patrick Countian Award

FORD GT & FORD MUSTANG GT4 WIN

MOORESVILLE, NC – May 7, 2018 – The Ford road racing programs brought home multiple wins this past weekend from around the world. “I’m very proud of what our team accomplished this weekend,” said Doug Yates, President and CEO of Roush Yates Engines. “To win both season openers in our Ford GT program and back-to-back races with the Ford Mustang (GT4) program is a testament of the hard work by our teams. Austin Dillon and the AAA Team Leave The Monster Mile with 26th-Place Finish

“The Monster Mile certainly lived up to its name this weekend. We struggled from the time we unloaded to find speed in the AAA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. During the first Stage we made a green flag pit stop for tires because we completely wore our right rear tire down to the cords. That put us a couple of laps down and set the stage for us to play catch-up for the remainder of the race. Unfortunately, the cautions didn’t fall in our favor so we weren’t able to get back on the lead lap. We know we need to roll our sleeves up and get to work finding a better package for Dover.”

Handling and Tire Issues Result in 35th-Place Finish for Ryan Newman and Cat Racing at Dover

“Our Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 didn’t respond the way we anticipated from the time we unloaded and throughout the course of the race weekend at Dover. It wasn’t for a lack of effort. Then to have two tire issues during the second stage really cost us a chance to right the ship. At that point we went to the garage, diagnosed the problem and turned our race into a test session.”

Hub Issue Leads To Long Day At Dover For Menard

Hub Issue Leads To Long Day At Dover For Menard

May 6, 2018

Paul Menard and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team had a fast Ford Fusion for Sunday’s 400-miler at Dover International Speedway, as evidenced by their practice speeds on Friday and Saturday.

But a loose wheel and a trip to the garage to change a damaged hub just before the end of the race’s first Stage kept Menard and the team from capitalizing on the speed in their No. 21 Fusion. Menard had moved up to 16th from his 20th starting position before the mechanical issues sent him to the garage for repairs. Continue reading Hub Issue Leads To Long Day At Dover For Menard
