Tim Allison Racing

This past weekend we did get to race as it was calling for rain.  It held off and it was a little chilly, but we got the first race in the books for 2012.  We had a great field of cars again and the track was really nice early on.   It did dry out as the night went on.   Again the draw was not in our favor and we drew the 2nd to last row in the 3rd heat.  We ended up and finished 4th and that got us qualified for the feature.  The inversion was a 6 so that put us starting in the 12th position on a pretty much one lane track- up against the wall,  which is where we like to run!  The race started and we avoided a couple of spins and fell back to 16th.  By the end of the feature we worked our way back up to 8th.  A good solid night for the team for our first night out! We are off next weekend but on the following weekend May 11th we have a make up feature for the rained-out race from last weekend for the NRA series plus another complete program that same night s plus another complete program that same night

Tim Allison Year Begins

This past weekend our first race was at Limaland Motorsports Park.  We had a great turnout for our first NRA Sanctioned race.  As usual, the draw system wasn’t in our favor- we drew the high number in the hat and we started dead last in the first heat, and that was starting ninth on a very nice, very fast race track.  But we were able to get up to third and make the redraw for the feature and the inversion was a 5.  That put us starting in the ninth position for the feature.  Then Mother Nature ruined the evening by rain coming just as the feature was pushing off.  We have a makeup feature in two weeks for the NRA race, but we are back at LimaLand Motorsports Park again this weekend for our weekly show.

Tim Allison Update

The final race of the season  was held last night at Limaland Motorsports Park with another gtreat crowd and car count, again as most of the season lady luck has been with us when it comes to the pill draw and nothing was different last night as we drew dead last again in the second heat so again we had our work cut out for us,we charged to the front and finished a good solid 3rd and that got us qualified for the feature and with the inversion that had us starting in the 8th position for the 25 lap feature,
since it was the last race of the season we thought we would try few different things and see what would happen and we got going good for about the first 6 -8 laps and things was looking pretty goo and jumped the cushion and lost a few spots and in the end we faded to finish 14th overall, not what we expected but we didn’t tear it up for the 10 lap king of the quater miles race

So for the 10 lap shootout we changed the car again and the car wa sreally nice now and in the 10 lap shootout it is pretty much a win it or wear it kind a race and on the first start we came out leading the race and for some reason the called the start back, not what we needed, on the second restart we ran side by side for 4-5 laps with us on the cushion and the other car in the middle and it wa shaping up to be a great race and then we got racing with another car in the picture and all 3 of us was going for the lead and few laps later we spun out,but the car was really nice!!!!  so learned few things that will really help us out, but the season is over at limaland motorsports park for the year

our next race looks like we are canada bound for the canadian nationals in the middle of spetember and one more race at eldora speedway oct. 2
so till our next update thanks again for all your help and continued support and have a great day!! thanks. tim allison

We were at Limaland Motorsports Park Friday night,  and lady luck has not been on our side as two weeks in a row we drew again dead last.  That got us in the 2nd heat and started tail 9th and ran 5th and that got us qualified for the feature but not far enough in the finish to make the redraw, so in the feature we started 13th and got up to 8th, and ended up finishing 13th overall for the night

Saturday night we were off to Fremont Speedway for a co-sanctioned race with the 305 sprints versus the 360.  There were over 55 cars entered.  This time the draw was a little nicer as we drew for the 2nd heat and started 3rd. We ended up finishing 3rd and that got us qualified for the feature but not for the redraw again.  We would start 11th in the feature , we were racing on a very hard to pass super slick track and had made our way up 8th, but hit one of the big tires in the corners and spun out and finished with a disappointing 19th place finish.

This Friday night is the last race of the season at Limaland Motorsports and the annual King of the 1/4 Mile race.  This should be a great night of racing as the weather looks great!  We are hopiong to have a great night  and maybe we can pull off another victory this year to capture our 100th win.

Tim Allison Weekend Update

This past weekend were was at Limaland Motorsports Park. The weather was very hot and there had been no rain so they had the track really watered-over 142,000 gallons of water for Friday night, then there was a major rain storm within 1 hr of start time on the track.  Wow!

We came up two spots short so we did not transfer to the A-main, what a heart breaker!  But thats how tough our series is. We will go get ’em next weekend.

TIM ALLISON WEEKEND NEWS

THIS PAST WEEKEND WE WERE AT ELDORA SPEEDWAY FOR THE KINGS ROYAL WEEKEND.  WE HAD ANOTHER GREAT FIELD OF CARS WITH 38 CARS ON HAND.  WE QUALIFIED 7TH AND THAT GOT US IN THE FOURTH HEAT.  WE STARTED IN THE 3RD ROW AND FINISHED 3RD WITH A TIRE GOING DOWN. THAT GOT US QUALIFIED FOR THE FEATURE, WITH THE INVERSION THAT PUT US ON THE OUTSIDE POLE FOR. WE WOULD TAKE THE LEAD ON THE FIRST LAP AND START TO CHECK OUT AND LEAD UP UNTIL LAP 16 OF 25 LAPS AND THE CAR WAS GETTING LOOSE AND WE ENDED UP FINISHING 6TH OVER ALL IN THE FEATURE ON FRIDAY NIGHT,

ON SATURDAY NIGHT THERE WERE ALSO 38 CARS ON HAND. WE QUALIFIED 21st ON THIS NIGHT.  IT WASN’T A GOOD QUALIFYING TIME, SO NOW WE HAD OUT WORK CUT OUT FOR US THIS NIGHT.   THIS PUT US IN THE 3RD HEAT ON THE FRONT ROW.  WE WON THE HEAT WITH NO PROBLEM.  THIS QUALIFIED FOR THE FEATURE AND WITH THE INVERSION WE WOULD START IN 12TH .WE WOULD FINISH 14TH IN THE FEATURE, NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED BUT OVERALL WE HAD A GOOD WEEKEND. WE ARE NOW IN 2ND  IN THE POINTS.  THIS WEEKEND WE WILL BE AT LIMA LAND MOTOR SPORTS PARK FOR THE ANNUAL MEMORIAL RACE FOR OUR FELLOW RACER TRAVIS MILLER.

Tim Allison Update

This past weekend we were suppose to travel to Moler Raceway down by Cincinnati Ohio for out first visit, but mother nature dumped over an inch of rain on Thursday night and with continued rain on Friday morning canceling another one of our races, mother nature has been a bear this year.

Saturday night we were off to K-C Raceway for our first visit and we did get the race in as the weather was great.  We had another great field of cars and we were able to qualify at this track and were fast in hot laps and changed  a gear to qualify. That hurt us and we qualified 11th overall.

We were in the first heat and drove away from everyone and won by a straightaway. That got us qualified for the feature, and with the inversion draw we would start 9th in the feature.

The feature went non stop and we finished 13th, not what we were expecting as fast as we were, we mounted 2 new tires for the feature and our left rear grew 2″ from where we started and that did not help handling of the race car at all!
This coming weekend is the Super bowl of sprint car racing and one to see as we are at Tony Stewarts famous Eldora Speedway for the annual Kings Royal weekend!

Tim Allison Update

This past weekend we raced at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday night and again another 30 plus sprint cars on hand again.  It was nice all day and then we thought Mother Nature was going to win again as the skies got dark and we had a few sprinkles, but in the end we got the race in.

We lined up in the 6 position in the 4th and final heat race and finished in the 3rd position and as it was hard to pass and was pretty much follow the leader.  With the inversion of a 12 and that put us starting in the 12 position on very dry and super slick race track, so we had our work cut out for us for the feature.
The feature went non-stop all the way till lap 18 for a spin and the whole race nobody really did much passing as it was pretty much get in line and follow the leader. We ended up finishing 14th in the end. Not what we expected, but we had a right rear tire going down and came in with only 3lbs of air and that hurt us some.

Next race is july 1st at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday night and July 3rd at Millstream Speedway on Sunday night.

Tim Allison Update

This past weekend was the last race for the points championship at Lima
Land Motorsports Park on Friday night and the traveling NRA 360 Sprint
Series also. It was a great night of racing and a great field of cars.
We drew dead last in the first heat race and that had us starting in the
10th position so we had our work cut for us.  The goal was to get to
the feature and gain as many points as we can and to try and win the
feature and the championship.  On the start of the heat race we got a
great start and we came from 10th to 4th in the heat race and that got
us qualified for the fetaure. No points were gained at that point.  The
inversion for the feature was a 10 and that had us starting on the pole
for the feature! We took the lead and never looked back and won the
feature! We had a straightaway lead at times, but when the dust settled
we did everything we could do by winning the feature and gaining the
most points,  but yet not enough. We came up just 55 points short of
winning the championship at Limaland Motorsports Park and 72 points
short of winning the NRA 360 Series.  In the end we ended up 3rd in both
series.  It was great to get the win plus back to back feature wins.
Now only 2 to go to hit the 100th!  As we look back, if it was not for
the 2 mechanical failures over the course of the summer we had, we could
have won both the championships.  In the end we all are very proud of
what we accomplished this year.

Tim Allison gets 97

This past weekend of racing was supposed to be two nights of racing for the weekend, but Mother Nature ruined it for us on Saturday night as the rain came in again. On Friday night we were at Lima Land Motor Sports Park for our big annual 360 / 305 shootout race.  We had a great field of cars on hand on a beautiful night of racing and weather.  We got a decent draw for our heat race and lined up 4th and finished 2nd in our heat.  That got us qualified for the feature and with the inversion being a 10 that put us starting in the 3rd position for the feature.  We jumped right into second on the first lap and started running down the leader and chased him down and took the lead on lap 13 and from there on it,  was history and we went onto to win the feature event!  This was win number 97 as we are trying to hit the 100th feature win this year, but time is running out.  It was another great night and that moved us up into the 3rd position in points with one race to go.  We do have a  shot at winning the points, but you never know till its over they say.   This weekend we will be at Waynesfield Raceway Park on Saturday night.

Tim Allison Checking In

I am a week late on my results from 2 weeks ago, been real busy and was getting ready for the big Kings Royal 2 day show at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway this past weekend.  Two weeks ago was supposed to be a Friday and Saturday race again,  but Mother Nature ruined it again on friday night as we were rained out again.  On Saturday night we were back at KC Raceway again for our 2nd visit.  On a very hot and humid day, track preparation was not good at all to say the least.  It was pretty much no passing all night long in all divisions.  We drew dead last in our heat and passed one car.  We started 13th in the feature and ended up finishing 12th as again it was pretty much finish where you start; not good at all for putting on a good race for the fans

This past weekend was the Super Bowl weekend of the year for sprint car racing in Ohio and it was again the Kings Royal weekend which is always some of the best sprint car racing of the year.  The 410’s were racing for $50,000 to win on Saturday and our division was racing for $2000 to win and racing with Tony Stewart both nights in front of 23000 plus fans.  Friday night we had one of the best car counts as we had 41 cars signed in the pits.  Friday night we qualified 11th quick out of 41 cars,we ran 3rd in our heat and that got us qualified for the feature. With the inversion in our favor we started on the pole position, we jumped out to the front and walked away for the first 12 laps of the 20 lap feature, but as the race wound down we didn’t have the car tight enough and ended up finishing in the 4th position, but yet another great run!  Saturday night for the big show we qualified 7th quick with another great field of cars.  In our heat race we finished 2nd and that got us qualified for the feature and the inversion for the feature again was in our favor and put us on the pole for the feature.  So again from the previous night’s setup and finish we tightened the car up more so we would be good all through the feature.  We took the lead and never looked back. As the race wound down we were racing at times 4 wide for the lead!  We stayed out front for 24 1/2 laps of the 25 lap feature only to have Tony Stewart pass us for the win in the last 1/2 of a lap.  That was a little disappointing, but if you are going to get beat, i guess it’s better to get beat by  one of the best!  Overall it was a great weekend with a 4th and a 2nd plus finish and a great night for moving further up in the point standings.

This weekend we will be at Limaland Motor Sports Park on Friday night for the big anniversary race and Saturday night we are back at Waynesfield Raceway Park

Tim Allison Update

This past weekend we were at Lima Land Motor Sports Park on Friday night for our make up feature from the rain out the week before plus our Firecracker Friday special.  In the make up feature we started 8th, but the track turned really slick and we missed our setup so we finished 9th over all.  In the second feature we were in the second heat and dominated it as we hit the set up perfectly and checked out. That got us qualified for the feature and put us starting in the 4th position, an excellent position for the big money on the line for Firecracker Friday.  As the race started,  we jumped right into the 4th position and started heading to the front only to have a part failure somewhere inside the steering box.  We were credited for the 17th position.  That was a big let down for us as fast as we were in our heat and in just the first couple of laps of the feature, but we won’t let that get us down.  This Friday night we are off to our first visit at Moler Raceway Park and then on Saturday we are back to K-C Raceway again.

Tim Allison Update

Hello and good day! This past weekend we were supposed to get 2 races in, and we almost did- but mother nature is not being nice to us this year.  Friday night we were at Lima Land Motor Sports Park and we started off with a high number pill draw again and that put us starting in the 4th heat and the last row.  We got going good and made it up to 2nd and that got us qualified for the feature and the inversion was an 8 so that put us starting in the 4th row outside.  As the feature started,  we jumped up to 4th on the first lap only to have mother nature win again on this night as the rains came and there will be a make-up feature in 2 weeks for this race,
Saturday night we went K-C Raceway for our first visit in about 5 yrs and we got a good draw and started 1st in the first heat and finished 2nd and that got us qualified for the feature and the inversion was a 6 and that got us starting 4th in the feature and the feature went non-stop with no passing as the track was super dry with hardly no passing from anyone, you either lost a spot or two or gained one or two, not a good racing surface at all.  But we ended up finishing in the 5th position, another good run and another great night for gaining points and getting us very close to taking over the points lead, we are off this weekend with double features on July 2nd at Lima Land Motor Sports Park.

Tim Allison Update

Hello and good morning!  This past weekend mother nature won again as the heavy rains came in late in the afternoon.  It’s been a rainy year so far off.  This weekend we will be at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday night and on Saturday we will have our first visit to KC Raceway on Saturday night in about 5 yrs.  Mother Nature is calling for a chance of rain again both nights; let’s hope she is wrong!
