NHRA® Team Report
Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals – Concord, NC
Pre-Race Report
Cruz Pedregon and team are headed to Charlotte after a quarter-finals finish at Maple Grove and a very special tour of the Pentagon Monday, Cruz’s birthday. After the visit, the team made time to address clutch issues on the Snap-on® Dodge® SRT® Hellcat® before hitting the road to zMAX Dragway.
“The clutch wear caused the car to be a little too aggressive, so we’ve logged that into our system and made the needed adjustments,” Cruz says. “The Countdown is our playoffs, so anything can happen. It took us a while this season, but we’ve put down some solid runs and are finally coming into our own. We’re feeling good about what the Snap-on Dodge will do this weekend.”
The Snap-on Nitro franchisee on the side of Cruz’s car this week is a tribute to the late Bob Davis. Bob was with Snap-on 51 years…so long that it became a family business. His son Wayne, who will be with us at the track this weekend, has been with Snap-on 29 years. Wayne’s brother and son have also been a part of the Snap-on team. Wayne has another longtime commitment outside his franchise and that is to the Army Reserves where he will have served 27 years when he retires from its ranks.
Cruz’s primary sponsor, Snap-on, appreciates those who are dedicated to these roles of keeping us safe at home and on the road. If you’re one of the Makers and Fixers among us here at the track or online, Snap-on hopes you’ll share your story at makersandfixers.com.
