DANIEL HEMRIC, NO. 8 CESSNA CAMARO ZL1 Breakout Session Highlights:

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO BE SO FAST HERE AT CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS?
“It’s been a lot of fun, obviously having everyone be excited about the cars that all of Richard Childress Racing has brought to show the speed that we have. It’s been fun, but the only thing that really matters throughout the week is tomorrow. That’s what we are looking forward to.”

YOU HAD A QUICK CAR IN PRACTICE. HOW DO YOU FEEL GOING INTO TOMORROW?
“We’ve had good speed. The drivability has gotten better and better as we went. It’s one of those things where we are trying to balance the car and get the ability to make the transition between day to night. I feel OK about it, just have to get into the race and see how it goes.”

EVER SINCE CHARLOTTE HAS BEEN RE-PAVED, IT’S BROUGHT SOME CHARACTER BACK. WHAT’S THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE TRACK?
“I think three and four, probably for everyone. It’s the part of the track that bakes in the sun and loses more and more grip. There are some bumps down there that makes it hard to get your car to land on the line, whether you are trying to run the bottom or the top. It’s kind of a moving target because the changes in the sun and the shade changes the balance so much down there throughout the race. Trying to manage that is probably the toughest part.”

WOULD YOU SAY THAT TURN THREE IS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST IN THE SERIES?
“Yeah, absolutely. Watch Days of Thunder and you can figure that out.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A NASCAR/INDYCAR DOUBLEHEADER ON THE SAME WEEKEND AT THE SAME TRACK SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
“Sure, bring it on. I have nothing against it. Obviously, Chevrolet does a lot for our garage, as well as that side of it. I think it would be cool.”

ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH ANY INDYCAR DRIVERS?
“I am not. Those guys live the life though; I’d like to meet a couple of them.”
